Having fun in school
– where you'll enjoy being sent to detention!
During a recent trip to the Northwest part of the United States a former high school buddy of mine took me to the 93 year old Kennedy School in Portland, Oregon. This school has been renovated by the McMenamins Company into an all around
fun spot including a small hotel, restaurants, bars (one called the Detention Bar), brewery, a movie theater, art gallery and a soaking pool. This is one of the most beautiful renovations you'll ever see.

UFO'S In The Heartland
by Stan Hitchcock
Scott with Grandfather Thornburg,
2007 Wisconsin and Iowa pheasant hunting.
We've just returned from our annual trip to Wisconsin to visit Denise's folks and for some pheasant hunting across the river in Iowa with my son Scott. While I was driving into Wisconsin I got to thinking about an adventure that happened
here many years ago...It was the mid-sixties and I had a tour with Loretta Lynn. It was in the early years of our music careers when neither Loretta nor myself carried a band on the road and we would both do our shows working with the
house bands in the venues where we would be booked to appear. Loretta and I both had our first couple of records out, but still just barely making a living at it.

Never This Early Again
The dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that the Hebrews used to identify Passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.
We found out a couple of things you might be interested in.
This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives!
Only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (the last time was 1913 so if you are 95 years old or older you have seen it before), and none of us has ever, or will ever, see it any earlier!
The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now).
The earliest Easter can be is March 22 which last occurred in 1818. The next time it will be on March 22 will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now).
So no one alive today has, or ever will, see Easter any earlier than this year!
