Look Who Stopped By!
Larry and Deama Stephenson paid a visit to our office to introduce us to daughter "Falon Whysper" Sidney Stephenson. She's a charmer and we know that the next time we see her she will either have a mandolin or a camera! That is the family way! Congratulations to this great bluegrass family!

One of our missions as a television network is to showcase and celebrate the enormous amount of talent that can be found across America. In keeping with that mission we are spotlighting a wonderful performer on Heartland Treasures the week of February 21. This "In Studio" episode features Tiffany Turner, who a lot of you have seen on American Jukebox Theater. This episode features several new songs that were recorded for the first time by Tiffany and our cameras capture the behind the scene action of that studio session.

We had a very good response to the special Healing Power of a Song which featured the story of Benita Hill, who is a major Nashville songwriter, and how music helped her cope with her battle with cancer. We will be airing this special again on Thursday, March 4th at 8pm ET. This is a wonderful and uplifting story and the DVD, which features all original music from Benita, is available in our Country Store.

We have several new episodes starting in February including new shows from Doc Sanders on Down the Road and new episodes of the Sunday Sampler starting February 21 at 6pm ET.

Give a Living Rose is in the process of producing new episodes that will hopefully be available in the late spring, so in the meantime, starting in March, we will be airing a new series called Virginia Dreams Center Stage. This is a weekly music series that features nationally known artists like Jimmy Fortune and Larry Stephenson while also giving those local and regional bands a chance to shine. You can learn more about Virginia Dreams at www.virginiadreamscenterstage.com and the series will debut on Thursday, March 11 at 8pm ET.

This Global Warming Is 'Bout To Freeze Me To Death!
A Hillbilly's Take On The Weather

by Stan Hitchcock
I wish Al Gore was here in Tennessee in the middle of this snow and ice storm so he could tell me again how warm we are making our planet. Feels more like the "Return Of The Ice Age", now that is a cause I could really get behind.
Being a genuine "born and bred, and born again" hillbilly from the Ozark Mountains I have always been attuned to the changes in the weather. read more> >

Bob Bilyeu is the Producer/Host of "The Old Country Church" so popular on BlueHighwaysTV. Bob is a native of the Ozark Mountains and a man who knows more about Gospel Music than anyone I have ever met. He, and his wife Connie, have been my best friends since 1958 and we are very fortunate to have Bob's knowledge and expertise as a resource for our Network. Bob's stories about growing up in the Ozarks are always favorites of all who read our Newsletter. ~Stan Hitchcock

Old Country Church
Oh Say, But I'm Glad
by Bob Bilyeu
It was the year before I turned four and seven months before the bombing of Pearl Harbor when our family was attending a brush arbor meeting down where Dry Holler met the Watered Fork that I learned that something important was about to happen. As the meeting came to a close, everyone was telling my dad "goodbye" and "good luck in California." I didn't understand what was happening. Dad explained that he was leaving the next morning with friends to go to California to find work. He said he would be gone for a while and that I should be good boy and take care of my mother and sister until he got back. read more> >

Book Signing
While in Springfield, MO for a Barnes & Noble book signing, for his book, "At The Corner Of Music Row And Memory Lane" Stan Hitchcock reunites with one of his musical heroes. This is Dottie Dillard, alto voice of the Anita Kerr Singers. This lady is heard on more hit records out of Nashville in the 40's, 50's and 60's than just about anyone else. Dottie and The Anita Kerr Singers were on the records of Eddy Arnold, Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Ernest Tubb, Red Foley, Johnny Cash, Porter Wagoner, Jimmy Dean, every one else you can think of……and Stan Hitchcock. The Anita Kerr Singers were simply "the greatest" and brought so much "sound" to the classic country records of the day. Dottie retired and moved back to her hometown of Springfield in the 70's but the great music of the Kerr's lives on and will always have a special place in the hearts of the Artists they sang with. While with Stan at Barnes & Noble she thrilled the crowd with some of her recollections of the recording sessions she sang on. Stan plans to do a special "Heart to Heart" with Dottie in the near future.
