The Bluegrass Invasion
The Reno Tradition will be playing The Bluegrass Invasion at Ave Maria University on June 6th in Ave Maria, Florida. There is a great line-up of talent featuring The Lewis Family, The Grascals, Blue Highway, Clay Hess, Cory Walker, Jerrod
Walker, Keith Bass and Tomorrow's News, plus Roger Bass and the Hillbillies and of course Ronnie Reno and The Reno Tradition (we will be going on at 5:35pm).
If seeing the Reno Tradition isn't enough to get you to the festival, you may want to come because this will be the last stage performance for The Lewis Family. After a lifetime of playing music together, 58 years to be exact, and
entertaining audiences around the world, The Lewis Family is retiring. This will be an historic performance.
So, make sure you make it down to North Park in Ave Maria Township - Collier County, FL.

SOUTHERN STRIDE
by Bob Bilyeu
Most people familiar with gospel music know what the term Southern Gospel Music means. It doesn't get as much attention in music circles as Contemporary Gospel
or Black Gospel, but there are more radio stations playing Southern Gospel than any other sacred music. Much of its recent popularity can be attributed to Bill Gaither's videos which have introduced a new generation to this old form of
music. But what gave it its initial popularity?
How did "Southern Gospel" come about? We know that in the 1920's convention music and quartet music gained some regional popularity in rural areas of the middle and east parts of the country. Publishers like Vaughn, Winsett, Rodeheaver,
Bartlett, Stamps, and Baxter were or soon would be publishing new books yearly of this four-part harmony that had metamorphosed from the old Sacred Harps music, but this was not yet "Southern Gospel."

Reno and Hitchcock Fishing Trip
by Stan Hitchcock
Well, with the Spring warm up Reno and I just couldn't stand staying in the offices of Hitchcock Enterprises and BlueHighways TV last Thursday. It was
hitting 75 degrees on Old Hickory Lake just a couple of blocks from the offices and the water had warmed up to 62 degrees....perfect bass fishing conditions. We loaded up our equipment in my Bass Tracker and stopped by the convenience
store to let Reno go buy 20 pounds of junk food and sandwiches and headed out to put the boat in the water. It was a beautiful clear Spring day. Sure, I had noticed the Weather Channel said there was a 20 percent chance of strong storms
later, but shoot there wasn't a cloud in the sky so why worry?
