This journey took place on the anniversary of The Oregon Trail and includes background stories from some of the people who took part in the reenactment of the wagon trains going cross country.


Donnie Blanz Western Americana with Donnie Blanz makes its debut on BHTV Virtual this month. Singer, songwriter and motivational speaker Donnie Blanz performs original western music and incorporates the incredible photography of Lori Faith Merritt.


Old Country Church Choir The BlueHighways TV signature series The Old Country Church begins airing this month with the first episode featuring New Tradition, Stan and Ronnie, the OCC Choir and much more.

There are several special moments sprinkled through the schedule from Due West, Old Country Church, Heart to Heart Classics and features on Americana Artisans from around the country.

Bake Sale
I got a call, earlier this week, from my friend Geneva. It is bake sale time for the Historic Cragfont Pilgrimage (www.cragfont.org) and I was assigned to provide tasty, homemade merchandise that could fetch a good price. Out came my copper recipe card box, the final place of honor for family favorites, and I started the critical sort. The Cherry Almond Biscotti recipe kept me busy for a night – but I knew that I could sell a plate of seven for $3.50 and each batch would make enough for four plates plus the leftovers for Stan's and my morning coffee. Bake sales are a very BlueHighways activity which involves everyone – you either bake for them or you brake for them!
