The Old Country Church we present a special episode featuring music performed by our favorite bands who have their roots in the Ozark Mountains. Great traditional Gospel from the Pitts Chapel Choir, The Bacons, fan favorite The Goodwill Trio and the truly inspirational voice of Nedgra Culp. The second episode features The Lesters who perform such classics as "If We Never Meet Again", "He Rescued Me" and more.


Appalachian Highways we showcase a classic documentary featuring Morgan Sexton as he reminisces about his life and what music meant to him. From cutting his first banjo out of the bottom of a lard bucket thru his winning the National Endowment for the Arts Heritage Award in 1991.

Country Vibe
We have a brand new series starting in October called Country Vibe. In this fast paced series, host Chuck Long interviews new and established artists from country music and co-host Becca Walls keeps you up-to-date with the latest in Country music news with her Country Snippets segment. The first couple episodes feature Steve Wariner, Darryl Worley and Danielle Peck. Country Vibe premiers on Monday nights at 7:30pm with replays on Mondays at 10:30pm, Friday at 5pm and Saturday nights at 11:30pm (all times eastern).

Roadside Stories
We also have new episodes of Roadside Stories this month which airs Friday's at 8:30pm eastern. On October 23rd host Bob Wilson meets 77-year-old Gin by the side of the road in Rhode Island. She takes Bob back to her house and puts him to work. They split wood, fix her roof and build a bird house all before lunch. On Oct 30th Bob veers from the road and out onto the ice of Lake Winnipesaukee where he is put at the helm of the biggest ship on the lake.

Texas County Line continues its tradition of paying tribute to classic county music and the stars who were there at the beginning. In the episode that airs on Tuesday, October 27 at 8:30pm ET, there's a special performance from the legendary Ray Price who sings "Time" and "I Wish I Was 18 Again".


Reno's Old Time Music Festival join Ronnie as he takes a look back in tribute to the Renfro Valley Barn Dance on Thursday, October 22nd at 7:30pm eastern.

Banana Birthday Pudding

Ronnie Reno loves banana pudding, so every year for his birthday we look to make him a new version. Here is the special one we surprised him with this year.

Ingredients
2 packages (large) Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix (You will only use 1 ½ pkg.)
3 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 (8 oz.) container sour cream
5 ripe bananas
1 (1lb.) package of Nutter Butter cookies
1 container of Extra Creamy Cool Whip

Stringbeans Flu Cure & Grandpa's Friendship

It's been raining again in Tennessee. One of the wettest falls in memory. As I sit here on the front porch of our old farm house, watching the water run down to join our creek on its journey to feed the mighty Cumberland River, I think of friends, past and present. Some I miss, some I still enjoy, but, all I appreciate.

I first met Stringbean in 1954 at the Shrine Mosque in Springfield, Missouri on a package show with Carl Smith and Little Jimmy Dickens. I was just a 17 year old kid but String was friendly to everyone, taking time to talk to me backstage, and later, he really proved his spirit of human kindness when he befriended me on my first guest appearance on the Grand Ole Opry in 1961.
