The leaves are changing, there's a crispness in the air and we're stocking up on candy for all those trick-or-treaters (although we always keep some back for ourselves); and we have some treats for you over the next several
weeks on BlueHighways TV.
A new episode of Old Country Church will be airing on Sunday, October 17th at 10am and 5pm ET so you'll want to make sure and start your Sunday
with some great traditional Gospel Music. This episode will feature The Marksmen, Jerry and Tammy Sullivan and the Larry Stephenson Band.
On November 3rd at 7pm ET tune into America's Backroads for a new musical documentary featuring the
Dismembered Tennesseans; one of Tennessee's oldest Bluegrass Bands. This documentary follows the history of the band which first started in 1945 and in January we will showcase two episodes of America's Backroads
featuring the band in concert.
ProRoughstock Rodeo is shooting new events in October and will be back on the air December 4th so during the month of November we will be
airing Heartland Treasures in their timeslot on Saturday nights at 7:30pm ET.

Have You Got A Heart...Have You Got A Soul
"Have you got a heart…..do you have a soul…..what about your life…..is it out of control….are you alone and aching…..you don't know what to do…..well, I've
got a Friend for you." Just sitting here on the front porch of the old farm house thinking about the words of that song that I wrote some time ago. Not thinking of it as a song, so much, as a condition of so many people. It's easy to
enjoy a peaceful existence, sitting here of a morning, birds singing to me a beautiful lullaby, two hummingbirds feeding at the feeder Denise keeps full and hanging on the eave of the house, my old dog, Buck The Collie, sleeping at my feet
after a night of being on duty to keep the deer out of the garden. Living in the country, like we do, with the creek chuckling along just down the hill from the porch, is a wonderful blessed life, and I never take it for granted. I
believe that a thankful heart is the least we can offer to such a loving God.

Great Drive Along the Blue Ridge Parkway
by Denise Hitchcock
It was our 25th Wedding anniversary and to celebrate Stan and I drove our 2004 Mazda Speed convertible along the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is celebrating
its 75th anniversary this year. We took all back roads to get to our starting point just outside of Boone, North Carolina, enjoying the scenery and the towns along the way. Once on the parkway it was a spectacular drive with gorgeous
views the whole way. We even drove under a full moon, now that is romantic! We took the parkway south to its end in Cherokee, North Carolina.
Next year we plan to start in Boone and take the parkway north into Virginia. It was also a pleasure to meet so many people along the way who tune into BlueHighways TV. I am proud to say that BlueHighways TV is available over Sky Line and
Morris Broadband in many of the communities we passed through.
See you along the BlueHighways
Denise
