We're going to try another series from our library on BlueHighways TV for the next 8-weeks; Backstage Pass will replace The Branson Jam in January and February within our programming on RFD TV. Backstage Pass is hosted by Billy Parker and Jim Kalal and goes behind the scenes at some of the theaters in Branson for look at the stars like Moe Bandy, Mel Tillis, Roy Clark and Jim Stafford and others as they get ready for their nightly performance.

Of course our regular programming will continue through January. On Jan 13th and 20th Heart to Heart Classics will air a 2-part special on Michael Martin Murphey and of course there are episodes of Reno's Old Time Music Festival featuring Lonesome River Band and the Lynn Morris Band and more.

BHTV On Demand

New on BHTV On-Demand in January: Heart to Heart Classic episodes featuring Red Steagall and Don Edwards and a full show on the legendary Guy Clark; On Reno's Old Time Music Festival you have the antics and classic banjo playing of LeRoy Troy and another episode with the great a-cappella sound of Doyle Lawson and Quick Silver.

Still on for the month are specials featuring the St. Louis Blues Festival, Rock-n-roll music from the 50's from the American Jukebox Theater in Pigeon Forge TN and a mix of jazz and country with The Meeting of Masters:Joe Pass and Roy Clark.

Gospel Sampler
We're doing something a little different with the Gospel Sampler starting this month; we are putting together some shows featuring a single artist. On Jan. 10th one of most popular groups will be featured, The Goodwill Trio. Jan 17th is the Old Country Church Choir and on the 24th you'll get a half hour with New Tradition.

Story from Stan

When I got out of the Navy in 1958 and returned to my home town of Springfield, Missouri, the ABC Network television show, Ozark Jubilee, with Red Foley hosting, was still the hottest thing on television.
I never got to appear on the Ozark Jubilee, however, I did get to travel and do concerts with Red....and there couldn't have been a better advanced school of professional entertainment. There were some funny times, too. read more

10 Things to do when it snows

photo provided by Stan and Denise
pictured son Scott and girlfriend Kathryn

1) Build a snow fort…during hide-n-seek it's a good place to have your sister hide while you go inside for hot chocolate.
2) Snow ball fight…another use for the fort, but tell your sister she has to build her own.
3) Make a snowman…fun for the whole family…until the dog gets out and decides it wants to play fetch with the arms, nose, scarf, whatever.
4) Make snow angels…it's just fun.
5) Man made snow drifts in front of the front door…in the morning your parents will only look out the front door so the first time you do this you can get a extra snow day.
6) Sledding…nothing more fun then going down a hill, out-of-control, at 40 miles per hour, with trees at the bottom of the hill…well, you get the point.
7) Sleigh Rides…most fun with a date, cuddling under a blanket. Don't let Mom talk you into doing this with her, that's why she has Dad.
8) Let it melt in your mouth for water…during extended play times this is highly recommended…except again when the dog has been out…remember snow is white. 9) Play after dark when the moon is full…Fun and games during a moonlit night…it's just cool to be outside as the moonbeams create a bright evening.
10) Boys can write their names in it…your sister will envy you.
