BlueHighways TV has a strong commitment to America's unique Western lifestyle. Be it in our original series Due West or through a special at the Cowboy Gathering at the Ft. Worth Stockyards, we are proud to be able to bring our audience
western music, poetry, character pieces and storytelling in our programming and available on our Country Store. One of our favorite programs was when we took our cameras to the ranch of Red Steagall outside Ft. Worth, TX and did a little reenactment of a campfire around an old chuck wagon. We wanted to take the audience on a trail ride back into the 1800s where at the end of a long day punchin cows the cowboys would gather around the campfire by the chuck wagon for an evening of salt pork and beans where they would swap tall tales and sing a few trail songs? Sourdough, Beefsteak and Beans has always been one of our most popular programs.

Story from Stan

"Television Is My Life, ~
If It Don't Kill Me First"

In 1966 I was chosen to host a new television show coming out of Nashville and playing all across America. I reckon the reason I was chosen was because the name of the show was, "The Stan Hitchcock Show" and it just kinda fit me. This was during the early years combining music and television and new stuff was being developed…it was exciting times. Little did I know that I was taking my life in my hands (not to mention my body parts) as I eagerly entered the world of live television. read more

Howdy Folks,
It's that time of the year again when I start up the ‘ole bus and get excited….(not about traveling ~ but just the fact the ‘ole bus would start). You know I'm just kidding. I really enjoy traveling from town to town with my fine band "The Reno Tradition". This year we have a great lineup of shows all over the United States. read more
