Power of the Purse celebrity, Kimberly Maus, designer Maya Moon, and Girls Council Members

Dear Friends of Girls Inc.,
I would like to express my infinite gratitude to all Girls Inc. supporters who made Power of the Purse a huge success. We had record attendance and exceeded our fundraising goals by more than $20,000. A few highlights of the evening included the one-of-a-kind Gail Jubitz/Karen Malloy evening bag that auctioned for $6,000 and former Portland Trailblazer Jerome Kersey warmly presenting his bag to one of his biggest fans who paid $2,000 for the one-of-a-kind, autographed messenger bag. What a night!

The ongoing success of Power of the Purse demonstrates the community's desire to grow girls into strong, smart, bold, and economically-independent women that in turn grow Oregon's economy and future. The funds raised during Power of the Purse will benefit girls that defy the odds of poverty, immigration, and addiction--inspiring all in their midst to transcend challenge and embrace possibility.

Warm regards,

Annette Klinefelter
Executive Director
Girls Inc. of Northwest
