It's
hard to believe we are already in the end of March. This year is flying
by. Here in San Diego the weather has been incredible, so there is
no reason for you to not stop in, say hello and come see some of our
new product. We've just received
Mobileshadows,
Livingstones,
new original artwork, new additions to our bath & body as well as
new bags and jewelry lines.
For those of you not here in southern California, after reading this newsletter (and hopefully forwarding it on to some of your friends), book yourself a ticket out here and come see us at Mixture. If that's not possible, hop on our
website or give us a call… we'd love to work with you. Remember, we ship anywhere.
Again, we'd like to thank you all for the wonderful referrals we get here at Mixture. We love it when someone new walks in telling us that one of our loyal clients sent them in… Word of mouth is the best and we cannot tell you how much
we appreciate it!
Happy Spring to you all. Have a wonderful weekend!

Well
it's the perfect time of year to have friends over for Sunday morning
Brunch and enjoy a mimosa or two. This dish is wonderful like it is
or it's a great recipe to play around with by adding some bacon or
veggies, or both. Considered a design classic, the
TA04
Bigfoot table has become an identifiable icon for
E15. The tabletop is made up of
seven or eight 1 3/8" thick boards. The solid wood legs always include
the center of the tree. The square legs measure 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" and
intersect with the tabletop featuring the end grain with its annual
rings. During the seasoning of solid wood, the legs form their characteristic
cracks, which make every table unique.
Frittata Recipe
1 pound of small white potatoes (sliced)
5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 medium brown onion (thinly sliced)
1 or 2 oz. sharp white cheddar cheese
8 to 10 eggs (whisked)
1/2 cup sour cream
Heat a non-stick skillet that can go from stove top to oven with olive oil. Place
sliced potatoes and cook until lightly browned, tossing often. About
6 to 8 minutes. Add onions. Cook another 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper.
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grate cheese and whisk together with eggs.
Add salt and pepper to eggs. A little hot sauce never hurt anyone either.
Once potato mixture is ready, reduce heat and pour egg mixture into
skillet. Put a few dollops of sour cream on top and swirl around with
a knife. Cook until edge is set (about 2 minutes). Transfer to oven.
Bake until it sets (about 10 to 15 minutes). Invert onto a platter.
Let cool slightly and serve warm. I like to serve with sour cream on
the table so each person can dollop more on their serving.
Enjoy!

Designed by French designer Stephanie Marin,
Livingstones look
like they were picked up off a riverbed or while on a stroll along
the beach.
Varying in size, shape and material they are a versatile design statement.
They can be grouped together or stand on their own, ranging in size
from 6 inches to over 6 feet, there is a size for every space – indoor
or out. Available with firm interior for use as a seating element or
with soft, “squishy” interior for squeezing and comfort.
Livingstones are available in three fabrics and 16 colors. 100% pure
wool, polar fleece or neoprene. Not just for kids! Come see our new
shipment that just arrived.
We also
just received our first shipment of
Mobileshadows and
we are so excited!
Mobileshadows are cloud-like hanging features that
filter light and move in the wind like real clouds. They are available
in a number of different fabrics from textured linen to smooth silk.
It is an unexpected way to bring the outdoors in. It's also a playful
way to add texture and interest in any room or to use as a room divider.
They’re modern but soft and organic at the same time.

ARTS Values: Creativity, Caring and Nurturing, Positive Energy,
Inclusion, Responsibility, Trust and Honesty
We Believe…
* Through art expression kids are able to process their feelings, accept and
heal
* The artistic and creative process is therapeutic in itself
* Arts allow kids to express themselves in positive ways
* Arts allow kids the opportunity to build a positive relation and trust with
an adult
* Experience a supportive and nurturing environment
* The arts enhance self-confidence and self-esteem...kids learn to trust themselves
* The arts increase the ability to control behavior and emotions
* The arts teach important life skills such as sharing, teamwork and problem
solving
* There is not "right" or "wrong" in the creative process
* The arts help kids find validation
* Kids need to be kids. Kids deserve to be kids.
ARTS
was first conceived by artist Matt D’Arrigo in 1992 while
his mother and sister both battled cancer at the same time. Painting
and music were his refuge, and gave him A Reason To Survive that
emotional and tumultuous time—especially after the passing
of his mother. Just as the arts helped him during one of the most
difficult times of his life, he aspired to provide that same opportunity
to other kids facing their own personal crises. |
