Henry DeVries, MBA is a marketing and client relations expert for independent professionals, coaches and small business owners. As an adjunct professor of marketing and a graduate of the Leading Professional Service Firms Program at the Harvard Business School, Henry shares research on the best ways to find qualified prospects.

A sought-after speaker at chambers of commerce and trade and professional associations, Henry reveals more than 1,000 pragmatic strategies to achieve marketing returns of 400% to 2,000%. Through his 25-year marketing and business career he has researched specific systems, behaviors and best practices that can launch business owners into extraordinary success.

Prior to founding the New Client Marketing Institute in 1999, he was a senior executive at a $5 billion financial services organization and used these systems to generate more than 100,000 qualified leads a year. He also was president of an advertising agency where his systems helped double billings and land the firm in the Ad Age 500.

Henry's clients range from Fortune 500, Inc. 500 and billion-dollar corporations listed on the New York Stock Exchange, to small consulting firms and solo practitioners. He is the award-winning writer of numerous magazine articles, marketing guidebooks and a syndicated newspaper/Internet column.

Henry has been an adjunct professor of marketing for the UC San Diego Extension and serves in the administration as the Director of Communications. Henry earned his master's degree in business administration at San Diego State University, and currently pursues advanced studies at the Harvard Business School.

Michael Mark, current VP of Professional Development, has stepped up to be considered for the position of President Elect, which has been vacant all year. This would mean that, at year end, Michael would move right into the role of 2009 President. The President usually appoints members to fill vacancies, but in this case and due to its effect on next year's board, a special election is in order and will be conducted at our August 11th meeting.

If you are interested in also being considered for this role, which requires current or prior board of directors experience, please let Debbie Lousberg or Billie Francis know by August 4th. We will then proceed with the Nomination Committee selection process.

We are asking all our members to please take the time to renew online prior to the meeting which is held the month of your renewal. If you wait until the week before the meeting, you must bring a copy of your printed receipt or we have no way to verify your renewal.

2. You will avoid any consequences of potential human error.
3. It is simply the most efficient and effective way to renew.
4. You will get into the meeting faster because there won't be paperwork for you to complete prior to the meeting.
