Corrections to SF Open Studios Artist Information

Please note the following corrections:

Weekend 2: October 11 & 12

  • The correct dimensions of Marilynne Morshead's artwork featured in the SF Open Studios Guide is 11 x 14 inches unframed, 16 x 20 inches framed.
Weekend 3: October 18 & 19 Weekend 4: October 25 & 26
  • Tom Flynn's e-mail is tomflynnart@yahoo.com. The title of his artwork featured in the SF Open Studios Guide is Jimmy's Gate, Ink Drawing, 14 x 17 inches.
  • Lois Llewellyn's studio will not be open.
  • Fitz Maurice's studio will not be open.
  • Rebecca Shortle's studio will not be open.

  • Rob Cox's studio is located at Hunters Point Shipyard in Bldg. 117, #3105B.
  • On page 116 of the SF Open Studios Guide, the Hunters Point Shipyard building that is marked by the star and "Gallery" is actually Building 101, not 104.

Premier and Participating Artist Bulletin: The Place to Go to Know Your Arts

All announcements are from registered 2008 SF Open Studios Artists.

  • William Noguera, Death Row Artist, was recently featured in Arts & Opinion Magazine. Read his incredible story, Art As A Lifeline.
  • Rebecca Fox has been selected as a 2009 Heart Artist! Her public art heart project will be displayed and auctioned in SF, with all proceeds benefiting SF General Hospital. For more info, click here.
  • Liz Mamorsky presents her work in Second Hand: Creative Reuse in Times of Less now through 11/7 at 100 38th St., #1501, Richmond. Her work will be featured in Robobit Trashformations from 10/11 to 11/1 at Future Studio Gallery, 5558 N. Figueroa St., LA. Her artwork will also be included in Reclaim, Rework, Recreate: The Gotthelf Goes Green 12/3 to 2/25/09 at Gotthelf Art Gallery, 4126 Executive Dr., La Jolla.
  • Ray Lobato is showing artwork in Strictly Bayview, a group show at Art94124 Gallery, 3900B 3rd St., now until 10/24. Closing BBQ: 10/24, 6-9pm.
  • Nining Muir is exhibiting artwork at Space Gallery, 1141 Polk St. now through 10/26. Her work will also be shown at the de Young Museum at College Night: A Tribute to Asian/American/Art & Cultural Expressions 1900 to Present in Contemporary Art on 11/14, 5-8:45pm.
  • Bernadette Jiyong Frank is showing "Chemistry" (one of the Pulse Series) in a juried show "New Visions 2008" now at Pro Arts Gallery, 550 2nd St., Oakland now through 10/24.
  • Irena Kononova is participating in Mystic Reality, a group show at Noma Gallery, 80 Maiden Lane, now through 11/2.
  • David Patchen will show is work at SOFA Chicago, Navy Pier, with Judy Youens Gallery, 11/6-9. His work will be presented in a solo show at Coda Gallery, NYC, on 12/7 and in a glass invitational at the Mary Martin Gallery in Charleston, SC, in mid-December.
  • Ravi Anand's photographs are featured in Architectural Textures at 2223 Restaurant, 2223 Market St., SF now through 11/18.
  • Daniel Dallabrida is exhibition elements of his environmental-art series "Traversata: My Conversations with the River Arno" in Milan, Italy as part of the juried show "XV Premio Internationale di Scultura Edgardo Manucci" at the Casa del Pane, Casello Ovest di Porta Venezia, now through 11/19.
  • Sonia Melnikova-Raich will show her artwork in the juried exhibition Reflections of the Bay at California Modern Gallery, 1035 Market St., now until 12/2. Her work will be featured in After Life, an international juried photography exhibit at Watson Studio Gallery, Johmson City, TX now through 11/22.

  • Charlotte Niel, Angelika Schilli, Eric Larson, Tom De Carlo, & Heather Polley will show their artwork in "Loss," a group photography exhibit with Bay Area Photography Collective at Berkeley Art Center, 1275 Walnut St., Berkeley, 11/2 to 10/7. Opening Reception: 11/2, 2-4pm. Artists' Talk: 11/12, noon-5pm.
  • Maxine Solomon has two solo shows this fall: ArtHaus Gallery, 411 Bryant St., through December. CCIS, California Institute of Integral Studios, 1452 Mission St., SF, will feature Solomon's paintings in their Main Exhibition, Opening Reception: 10/24 in Namaste Hall, 7-9pm. The show will run through 12/12.
  • Rebecca Fox is showing her work in Geometry x3 now through 12/3 at The Atrium, 600 Townsend St. and in the group exhibition Reflections by the Bay until 12/2 at California Modern Gallery, 1035 Market St.
  • Alan Mazzetti present works from his Wine Foils Series at Sapphire Hill Winery, 51 Front St., Healdsburg now through 11/30, with a food and wine affair taking place on 11/1 & 11/2.
  • Schnetzler Photography will show artwork in a group show at The Historic Monadnock Building, 685 Market St. now until 1/1/09. Opening Reception: 10/22, 6-8pm.
  • Bay Printmakers will present a group exhibit of original prints from over 20 artists October 17 to January 2, 2009 at Falkirk Cultural Center, 1408 Mission St., San Rafael.

California-based women artists are invited to submit works that express their perspectives on immigration, whether based on personal experience, family history, or strong personal convictions. Organized by Women's Caucus for Art and the Korean Cultural Center of Los Angeles, the exhibition will run from February 20-March 9, 2009 and be juried by Alma Ruiz, curator at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.
