2007 SF Open Studios: Participating Artist Membership Deadline
The Participating Artist Membership deadline is August 30th. Sign up online before August 30th to be included in the online Guide and in the SF Bay Guardian Maps.
  • Step one is to make a payment.
  • Passwords to sign-up are sent after payment is made.
  • Logins and passwords from prior years must be reactivated through payment.
  • Upload a JPEG image and write an Artist Statement for the online Guide, which goes live in September 2007

SF Open Studios 2007 schedule:

  • Weekend One: Studios will not be open. Gear up for SF Open Studios at the Private Preview Gala on Saturday, October 6th and Exhibition Opening on Sunday, October 7th.
  • Weekend 2: October 13-14 Western San Francisco
  • Weekend 3: October 20-21 Central San Francisco
  • Weekend 4: October 27-28 Eastern San Francisco
  • Weekend 5: November 3-4 Hunters Point Shipyard

SF Open Studios Exhibition

Premier and Participating Artist Bulletin: The Place to Go to Know Your Arts

All announcements are from 2007 SF Open Studios Artists.


  • Modern Tea presents Modern Art, showcasing Madeline Behrens-Brigham July 6-29h at the (former) John's Hayes Valley Market, 581 Hayes Street at Laguna. Opening night party, Friday July 6th, 6-10pm.
  • Lily Martine presents her work in a group show at 111 Minna Gallery through June 30th.
  • Ari Salomon will present work in Ten by Ten at Mina Dresden Gallery, 312 Valencia Street at 14th, now through June 30th, Wednesday through Saturday, 5-8pm.

For the Artists

  • Large Artist Studio in SOMA with view on the Bay! For a yearly lease at $700/month you can work in a studio of about 305 square feet with lots of natural light and 10 foot ceilings. The overall space will be shared by 4-6 artists. Call 650-279-9720 for more information.
  • Hunters Point Studio for rent for Fall Open Studio, Building 101, 2nd Floor, East End, $600. Only available to sculptors, jewels or any artist using table top display. There is one small wall available, but lots of space for tables. Contact Carol Jessen, who will be showing her work in the same 1200 sf of space, at carol@caroljessen.com
  • Open house and reception to announce two new grants programs for Bay Area artists beginning this summer, sponsored by the Center for Cultural Innovation and the San Francisco Arts Commission to be held Wednesday, June 27th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at ODC Dance Commons, 351 Shotwell Street (between 17th and 18th). Space is limited. Register now at www.cciarts.org/openhouse.
  • Nature's Inspirations: Celebrating the Arts will honor Bay Area painters and photographers whose work portrays places, people and organizations that inspire the protection of agricultural and open space lands. Committee for Green Foothills is now seeking submissions of photography and original paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, or pastel for the September 23rd Exhibition and Art Sale. Completed applications are due July 6th. Applications are available online at www.greenfoothills.org/CFA.
  • Call for Entries: Art on the Square 2007, held in Redwood City, the peninsula's epicenter for the arts. Exhibit your work in three juried outdoor shows that will compliment Music on the Square, the city's evening summer concert series. Applications are available online at www.redwoodcity.org/parks.
  • Call for Artists: The Sacramento Fine Arts Center, Inc. invites you to enter the 2nd annual open exhibition "Animal House," July 10-28 displayed in the Sacramento Fine Arts Center, Inc. galleries.
