Helping ArtSpan and City Youth: Donation Challenge

Every dollar counts. Please, help us reach our challenge.

ArtSpan needs to raise $7,500 (we need $1,100 more) from individuals to win a one-to-one matching grant from the Miranda Lux Foundation. The $15,000 will support the Art and Literacy Program of Art for City Youth. ArtSpan needs $40 for each of 499 students to provide them with 11 hours of arts education. This matching-dollar challenge runs now until December 31, 2007.

To make an online donation to the challenge go to www.artspandonation2007.eventbrite.com and select ArtSpan - Miranda Lux Challenge Donation.

For the Artists

  • Artists United for Healthcare recently learned that language allowing self-employed individuals to buy into a state-wide purchasing pool for health care coverage was removed from the present version of AB X1 1 (Nunez/Perata), which is particularly distressing for California's artists. In response, Artists United for Healthcare is joining with It's Our Healthcare and other arts organizations to organize artists to tell our legislators to let self-employed individuals buy into the state-wide purchasing pool. We are asking artists to call their local legislators to say that self-employed people need to be allowed to buy into the state purchasing pool. For suggestions on what to say as well as how to get in touch with your local legislators, click here.
