Premier and Participating Artist Bulletin: The Place to Go to Know Your Arts

All announcements are from 2007 SF Open Studios Artists.


  • Melissa Wagner has new work up at the ultra-hip Barber Lounge, 854 Folsom Street, SF.
  • John Vias's work "Burned Out Building" was selected for inclusion in Pro Arts' "Juried Annual 2008 Exhibition. Artists will talk about their work on Saturday, February 16th at 1pm at Pro Arts Gallery, 550 Second Street, Oakland.
  • Alan Mazzetti presents large abstract paintings from his Probabilities series in the group show "Ancient City: the art of urban transformation" at 580 Hayes StreetGallery, SF from February 6 to March 1. Artist Panel Discussion: Friday, February, 22 6-8pm. Closing reception: Friday, February 29 7-10pm.
  • Emily Clawson and Mark Baugh-Sasaki will exhibit their artwork in a group show "Structured Thoughts" at Hang Art Annex, 567 Sutter Street, SF now through the end of the month.
  • Rebecca Shortle will participate in a group show "Road Trip" at the Uptown Body and Fender Shop, 401 26th Street between Broadway and Telegraph Avenue, Oakland.   • Steve Dehlinger and Kate Dopheide are participating artists in Art IS My Bag, a group show at AgeSong Gallery, 580 Hayes Street, SF, March 7th - 29th. Opening Reception: March 7th, 7 - 10pm.
  • Paule Dubois Dupuis presents her newest body of work in "Confluences," at Paula Barr Gallery, 536 West 26th Street, G9, New York, NY, curated by Myriam Rotzettre, March 13th - 29th. Artist Reception: March 13th, 6 - 9pm. Her work will also be presented in a solo show at Pamela Skinner Gallery, 723 S Street, Sacramento, April 12th - May 2nd. Preview Reception: Thursday, April 10th, 5 - 8pm. Second Saturday Reception: Saturday, April 12th, 6 - 9pm.
  • Ari Salomon will exhibit his photographs at the Uptown Night Club, 1928 Telegraph Ave, Oakland now through March 10.
  • Fernando Reyes will present his work at "JINGLETOWN," March 16 - April 27 at Pro Arts Gallery, 550 Second Street, Oakland.

ArtSpan Member Benefits
  • ArtSpan Members are invited to submit to Rayko Photo Center's Juried Photography Exhibition "Something Old, Something New," Deadline: April 19, 2008. RayKo Photo Center and ArtSpan invite you to participate in our Members' Juried Exhibition from July 18 - Aug. 28, 2008. You must be a member or become a member of ArtSpan to enter. This exhibition will highlight four artists: two traditional media and two new media. Eligibility: Any artist working in traditional photography (gelatin silver, chromogenic prints, etc), historical processes, or digital media are encouraged to apply. You may submit up to ten images total. CD entries ONLY will be accepted. You may not submit work that has been shown at RayKo Photo Center in the past. All entries must be received by Saturday, April 19, 2008. The four selected artists will be notified by phone. Send the completed entry form with your CD to:

  • ArtSpan Members are invited to "Securing Your Data" Seminar by Larry Dieterich of Macintoch Paramedic. Learn creative ways to make sure that your important files are safe and available to you when you need them. Common-sense, low-cost, effective computer security will be discussed and dissected.
