Artist Mixer in Honor of Therese Martin: March 17

Wednesday, March 17, 6:00 - 8:00pm, at ARC Studios & Gallery, 1246 Folsom Street, between 8th and 9th streets.

Artists, Volunteers, and ArtSpan's Supporters are invited to celebrate Therese Martin, former executive director of ArtSpan! This is a free event; no RSVP required. Bear Flag Wines, Bass Ale, and bites from Butterfly Restaurant will be served.

Tour des Artistes: March 21

Sunday, March 21, 10:30am - 3:30pm, starting at ARC Studios & Gallery, 1246 Folsom Street, between 8th and 9th streets.

Connect with local artists and learn the inspiration behind their artwork on this intimate VIP Brunch-Around tour of five working artists' studios lead by ArtSpan's Board Chairman, Michael Yochum, and ArtSpan's former executive director, Therese Martin. Tour will begin with coffee & pastries at ARC Studios & Gallery, 1246 Folsom Street; attendees will enjoy VIP limo bus transportation and refreshments along the way.

Purchase tickets online - only 7 remaining! $75 per person. Proceeds from Tour des Artistes raises funds for ArtSpan's Art for City Youth program - the price of your ticket underwrites the program for one student per year!

ArtSpan's annual Benefit Art Show & Auction will take place on Saturday, March 27 at SOMArts Bay Gallery.

Premier and Participating Artist Bulletin: The Place to Go to Know Your Arts

  • 3/19, 8pm-2am, Support Buena Vista Elementary School - one of ArtSpan's Art for City Youth schools - by attending a night of fashion, art, music, and food at 111 Minna Gallery; $15 minimum donation at the door. 100% of the proceeds will go to Buena Vista.

  • 3/20, 11am-4pm, Roxanne Worthington, along with 50 other artists will display their art at the Stonestown Family YMCA Creative Arts Faire 2010, St. Stephen Parish Center, 473 Eucalyptus Dr. $10 entrance fee.

  • 3/26, 5-9pm, Zannah Noe will present her latest paintings from the Norway & Berlin series at Velcrow Studio, her new live/work loft, 900 Tennessee at 20th St., along with guest artist Ericka Hannes.

  • Through 4/17, Nadine Defranoux's has been selected for the 3rd International Juried Plastic Camera Show at Rayko, 428 3rd St.

  • 4/17-18, Over 50 artists will open their studios to the public in SOMA Spring Open Studios. Friday Night Crawl, 4/16, 6-9pm.

  • 4/24-25, Mission Artists United will open their studios to the public during Spring Open Studios.

  • 5/1-2, 11am-6pm, 125 artists at Spring Open Studios at Hunters Point Shipyard.

  • Uncle Mike's 1st Annual Material & Supply Flea Market at ARC Studios & Gallery, 1246 Folsom on 4/3, 10am-2pm; clean up your art studio and sell any of your unwanted art supplies, tools, materials and more for cash. Cost to participate: $10 per 6-ft space. Bring your own 6-ft table and chair if needed; set up: 9-10am, take down: 2-3pm. RSVP to mkimballsf@aim.com with Flea Market RSVP in the subject line to participate as a seller; space is limited. Sale open to the public and all artist sare invited to attend to shop for used art supplies at great prices!
