Trophy Motorcycles
El Cajon Boulevard is widely known as one of the major roadways in San Diego, a thoroughfare designed for cruising which also has a notable history of motorcycle dealerships. Both the House of Motorcycles and Trophy Motorcycles, located
at the intersection of El Cajon Boulevard and Winona have housed motorcycles for over half a century. Tim and Isaac opened Trophy Motorcycles two years ago on El Cajon Boulevard because they liked that the building was home to Brattin
Motors.
For years, Southern California has been an outlet for road racing and desert racing. Before housing was built in the eastern area of the region, it was easy for motorcycle enthusiasts to check out of town on ‘Care Free Sundays' and do
what they loved most. During this era, British motorcycles were considered the top dogs for racing.
In 1992, Tim was living in Houston, Texas when he bought his first bike. As he began to work on his motorcycle, he took a strong liking to the mechanical side of his hobby and that's when he became hooked. A couple years later he was
working as a mechanic at a British motorcycle shop called British USA. In 2000, he was ready for a change, and followed one of his friends out to San Diego. It was here in San Diego where he met his future business partner Isaac who
worked downtown at GP Motorcycles for thirteen years. Tim and Isaac both share a passion for vintage British motorcycles, which is why Trophy Motorcycles looks more like a vintage motorcycle clubhouse than a retail shop.
Trophy Motorcycles services vintage British and Japanese motorcycles, along with modern-day Triumphs and Ducatis. They also have a room full of vintage bikes that are for sale, plus a brand new edition of vintage clothing a records
brought in by their long time friend, Mikey Ratt. Tim believes that the best overall motorcycle is the Triumph based on its performance, handling and good looks. He also noted that anybody who was ever considered cool had a Triumph,
including Bob Dylan, James Dean and Steve McQueen. Besides servicing and selling the coolest motorcycles in town, the best thing about Trophy Motorcycles is that Tim and Isaac offer great, knowledgeable service, and continue to develop
personal relationships with their customers, who just like them, love to ride.

Yelp About the Boulevard
Soda Bar - 3615 El Cajon Boulevard
Yelper:
Did someone say FREE pool and Street Fighters II? I think Soda Bar did. I went there on a special Saturday night to see one of my coworker's band play. First of all, my coworker's band rocked the little bar and the crowd seemed to enjoy
them as well.
As far as Soda Bar is concerned: quaint little dive bar, has a couple of booth tables, plenty of standing space, decent sized bar counter including stools. As far as the attitude of the other bar dwellers, people were friendly and casual.
The staff was helpful and mindful of people waiting for a drink. I'll definitely be going back.

Featured Arts and Events on the Boulevard
In 2009, the El Cajon Boulevard Business Improvement Association (BIA) started a pilot recycling program with 10 bins. Following that, the Association saw this as an opportunity to bring more art to the Boulevard and worked with
graphic design students at SDSU to develop the concept. The designs created by the students were to enhance the look of these standardized bins, and at the same time, help identify the recycling bins from the trash bins located next to
them.
The bins are reclaimed standard city trash bins with a custom fabricated top on the recycling bins. In the coming months, the Association is expanding the number of recycling bins to 20.
The students developed several great options. The El Cajon Boulevard BIA Board was so impressed by the designs that they decided to select three of the student's designs rather than the single design that was initially planned.
Congratulations to Kristin Hardy, Sonya Calderon, Cat Hunt for providing your creative design work which greatly enhances the Boulevard's garbage and recycling bins!
