City Chase Philadelphia is Saturday and we hope you're getting ready for a day of incredible challenges and fun adventure!  This is the second informational email we have sent and it is important that everyone participating reads the entire email because all of the information you need to know is contained within and this email also includes your first ChasePoint! Reminder...pre-race registration and packet pick-up is available tonight (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) at convenient T Mobile store locations (see below) - beat the crowds and pick up your gear before Saturday and you will have your SEPTA pass to help you get to the Start Line (we do NOT recommend driving to the Start Line as there is no parking)!



We can't wait to see everyone on Saturday and at our pre-event packet pick-ups Wednesday and Thursday!






CHASEPOINT #1:



City Chase Philadelphia is proud to announce Back On My Feet as our official charitable partner. As your FIRST CHASEPOINT we encourage your support for this meaningful cause and we ask that your team raise a minimum of $40 in donations for Back On My Feet by 3 PM on Saturday, July 31st. (Although not mandatory, it will give you a leg up on the competition to have one ChasePoint complete before the start of the event).



City Chase is proud to again partner as we did in 2008 and 2009 with locally based charity Back On My Feet (our teams raised over $12K and we hope to truely show our "Brotherly Love" this year by raising even more). Back on my Feet focuses on building self-esteem, value and strength to help its members toward a road filled with hope, opportunity, prosperity and happiness. The organization’s comprehensive program includes connections to BOMF’s job training and workforce development partners and offers assistance with education and housing expenses. The member benefits of Back on My Feet are not free – they earned through the currency of attitude, commitment, teamwork, respect and perseverance. Learn more about Back On My Feet here.



You can include your family, friends, colleagues or anyone else you wish to approach for support by simply becoming a fundraiser at the link below, forwarding them your fundraising page and having them donate any amount on your behalf. You should create ONE FUNDRAISING PAGE per team and you can enter either a participant's name or your team name in the First and Last name fields when creating your team's fundraising page.

The team that raises the most money will win a $210 gift certificate good for Merrell shoes and apparel that we will announce and award at the post party at The Field House! So far we have raised over $25,000 for our charities in Denver, San Diego and Seattle so let's keep the momentum going and raise more in Philadelphia this weekend!



Notes: Donations must be collected online only (through the link above) and will be verified on course at a location TBD that you will learn on Saturday. Once you meet the $40 minimum to complete the ChasePoint you will receive a ticket with a PDF attachment that you must print and bring with you on Saturday in order to receive credit for ChasePoint #1 or you may also bring a print-out of your personal fundraising page showing the amount you have raised (you must raise at least $40 to receive credit for completing the ChasePoint). EVENT INFORMATION:



START / FINISH:



City Chase Philadelphia will be starting at Dilworth Plaza (City Hall @ 15th and Market), and will be finishing into our After Party @ The Field House (1125 Filbert St) The Field House (1125 Filbert St) the Miller Lite will be flowing!





PRE-EVENT PICK-UP



We encourage you to pick up important event day information before the race at one of our pre-event pick-ups on either Wednesday, July 28th or Thursday, July 29th. You must bring a photo I.D and your completed team waiver (signed by both participants) to pick-up. The pick-up locations will be as follows:



Wednesday, July 28th at T-Mobile Store located at 2005 MARKET STREET, STE 170. from 5-8pm - MAP



Thursday, July 29th at T-Mobile Store at 500-02 SOUTH STREET from 5-8pm - MAP



If you don't pick up in advance, event day check-in will take place between 7:30 am and 9:00 am at Dilworth Plaza - Outside City Hall (15th and Market). Please bring your waiver signed by both participants to pre-event check in or you will not be given your bibs until event day. You will need to print out, fill out, and bring your team waiver to check-in whether it be in advance or on race day in order to compete.

CRAZY PRIZES



This year we may have gone a little overboard with our prizes. First, everyone get your costumes together because the team with the best costume will win 2 BlackBerry's in our costume contest! The winners (fastest finishers) of City Chase Seattle will be entered into our National Championship (location TBD) where Mitsubishi Motors will be awarding an All-New 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Crossover Utility Vehicle to each participant of the City Chase National Championship winning team! We also have our T-Mobile BlackBerry Merrell $500 Middle of the Pack Grand Prize that will go to the team that finishes in the middle of all finishers (prize - $500 Merrell gift certificate), and tons of draw prizes. Awards will all be given at the Field House Post Party @ 4:30pm



VOLUNTEERS



If you know anyone that wants to be a part of the intense action without having to tackle the ChasePoints, get them to volunteer. AFTER PARTY AND FAMILY FAN ZONE:

Field House - 1125 Filbert Street (parking is limited)



Come share an ice cold Miller Lite, food and your experiences with the other competitors at our after-party and family fan zone at Field House. The post-party will include two complimentary Miller Lites, great drink and food specials, award ceremony and a slide show of the day's activities (Award Ceremony and Prize Draw will be 4:30pm)...you won't want to miss out!





A FEW QUICK REMINDERS FOR EVENT DAY:



Check-in – 7:30 to 9:00 am Dilworth Plaza - 15th and Market. (For those unable to attend pre-registration or need to turn in waiver). Be there in time for a warm-up provided by Philadelphia Sports Clubs.


  • Check-in and other possible delays – There may be a short wait as we process the over 700 participants during check-in. You may also experience "line-ups" at certain ChasePoints along the course due to the number of participants but these should be minimal.

  • I.D. - Don’t forget that both team members MUST bring photo ID.

  • Dress comfortably & appropriately for the weather – Note: This event will go on no matter what the weather is. There is always a possibility of getting dirty & wet along the way (hint: wear a bathing suit). Don’t wear your favorite shorts or shoes if you are worried about them potentially getting damaged.

  • Parking - For those planning on driving, we recommend a different plan! There is minimal (paid) parking near the Start and Finish, and you cannot use a car or bike during the race. We recommend using the SEPTA to get to the Start Line.

  • A Snack: You might want to pack a little something so that you can eat on the run! A little extra energy along the way may give you the leg up you need on your competition.

  • The event begins at 10:00 am sharp, the official welcome will begin at roughly 9:30am, followed by an overview of rules, acknowledgments, some pre-event prizing, and perhaps even a few event insider tips. All participants must be at the location and checked in ready to go no later than 9:00 am.

  • The ChasePoints and Finish Line close at 4:00pm, with prizing and the draw @4:30 and post-event mingling, socializing and commiserating at the Field House after you finish.



    The Chase is on! Don't forget to tell your friends, co-workers, family members and Facebook strangers that you're "friends" with to sign up.
