April 7, 2010 Sign –Up Today for the Visioning Workshops To successfully achieve its mission, the Tijuana River Valley Recovery Team must have a simple and understandable vision for the future of the valley from the border to the sea. To begin the visioning process, the Restoration Action Team is hosting the first of three Visioning Workshops on Tuesday, April 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center. Presentations at the First Meeting This first meeting will include presentations by the major organizations involved in managing, planning and regulating the valley's uses. This includes the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board, City of San Diego, County of San Diego, San Diego County Water Authority, the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve, California State Parks, U.S. Navy, International Boundary and Water Commission, Customs and Border Patrol/Department of Homeland Security, City of Imperial Beach, and a bi-national perspective. Expected Outcomes The expected outcomes from Workshop 1 include: • Identification of common challenges • Highlights of mutually beneficial data • Identification of common goals • Identification of conflicting goals Who Is Invited? All members of the Recovery Team and other interested parties are invited. The meeting is hosted and coordinated by the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve's (TRNERR) Coastal Training Program. Please include any dietary restrictions or special needs that we can accommodate. Cash or check is currently the only form of payment accepted.
