ReStore Survey Results |
|
|
Thank you for your feedback! Habitat of Humanity of Champaign County and ReStore is committed to serving Champaign County, making our mission points meet your needs. Below
are highlights from our recent ReStore customer survey (just under 130 respondents).
Over the next few weeks, ReStore's volunteers and staff will reflect on how best to implement your suggestions. And as always, if you have a problem, you
are more than welcome to come be a part of the solution. Just contact Patti Darr to volunteer (355-6460 x116, volunteer@cuhabitat.org) or Eileen Gebbie to talk (359-0507 x111, director@cuhabitat.org).
HIGHLIGHTS
+ 47% shop at least once per month (30% of in-store respondents shop more than once per week)
+ 84% said that Habitat's mission to build homes with low-income families is extremely important
+ 68% said that the ReStore's quality of merchandise was important
+ Over 80% of respondents were women
+ 82% of respondents were between age 31 and 59, ages 40 – 49 representing 35% of respondents (ages of in-store respondents were slightly higher)
+ The largest percentage of respondents in Champaign County were from Champaign itself (22%) but over 20% were from outside of the county
+ Word of mouth has brought the ReStore the most customers (84%)
+ Equal numbers of respondents felt our current hours are fine and that later hours during the week would be better (67% in both cases)
Open-ended comments were divided most clearly between congratulations, concerns about pricing of furniture and the need for weekday evening hours. A sample is included below.
HOURS
+ Later evening hours would be great -- maybe until 7pm on some days
+ Would like to be able to go after work on weekdays; maybe open til 6 or 7?
+ Being open til 7:30p.m. on a week night. Perhaps a Tuesday or Friday
PRICING
+ Prices on your furniture are way too high, you would sell a lot more pieces if you lowered the price.
+ Most of the time items are reasonably priced. Sometimes, though, some items are priced much too high for a resale store. I shop resale to help stretch my budget for a family of six. I shop YOUR resale store because it's my way of
supporting your wonderful mission.
+ Prices are too high on furniture that is in good condition. I'm a single mom and I can't afford to buy furniture there.
+ I have noticed that the prices have become quite a bit higher with the move. I know space is at a premium for you but also consider, I often see the same items for sale for weeks at a time. Reduce the price and move the merchandise.
CONGRATULATIONS
+ We LOVE Restore!! Just bought two nice pieces of furniture for our new 60+ year old farm house. Not only are the pieces perfect for the farm, and the price was great....we have the satisfaction of using older pieces that might otherwise
have been tossed aside.
+ I love ReStore!
+ You are doing a great service, both in helping provide housing for those in need and in providing low-cost, high quality merchandise to those of us who cannot easily pay retail prices
+ Your store looks great! The staff is very nice and I just love it!!
+ I like the store itself, staff is friendly and helpful.
+ Love the store -- love what it offers -- love the reason for the store. I'm proud to support his cause -- to build and to recycle. Awesome!
+ I have bought items in the store...and have had great experiences with employees. I am so proud to go in and purchase and know I am helping someone. Thank you! |
