4TH OF JULY ALCOHOL BAN - 2005

Can you imagine watching fireworks this 4th of July without a beer? Show up to the The Mission Bay Park Committee meeting this Tuesday December 7th or you may lose your right to drink in/around Mission Bay this 4th of July. The MBPC will be voting on BANNING ALCOHOL on the beach on the 4th of July on Mission Bay. Show up and let them know how you feel!

If you care about your freedom to have a beer on the beach on the 4th of July, you need to be at this meeting and be heard. This vote is on whether to recommend a "one year trial" alcohol ban on Mission Bay on the 4th of July. The last time we had a "trial ban", it was never reviewed and stands to this day -- the keg ban that is responsible for much of the trash on the 4th -- one of the key justifications for this, another bad idea.

What's next? Probably a total alcohol ban.

Once again, the genius words of one of our country's fathers:

"They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

-- Benjamin Franklin
