What a spirited group we have in the Middle School! I was so impressed with the level of student participation for Spirit Week. From dressing up in costumes, to dancing and cheering at the pep rally, to taking part
in activities at the game on Friday, the Middle School showed their Skyhawk pride!!!!
The next Parent Coffee will be a 6th Grade Parent Coffee on October 15 in the Barks Hall Conference Room at 8:15am. The topic will be the 6th Grade Tybee Island trip.
Please note that the 8th grade speeches originally scheduled for October 3rd will be presented on Monday, October 6 at10:40am in the Bank of America Theatre. There will be no assembly on October 3rd due to a 7th/8th grade field trip.
Have an extraordinary week!
- Mrs. Blair Lowry

Notes from the Nurse
URGENT REMINDER! All new students must have a copy of the South Carolina Certificate of Immunization by Friday, September 12, 2008. South Carolina State Health Department law mandates that students NOT be allowed in class without
these forms 45 calendar days after the start of school.
Please look on the school web site for the current 2008-2009 Medical Forms. They are located on the Middle School page. We will only offer what is on the OTC Medication Form to your child while on campus. All other medicines and
treatments (including ibuprophen) must be ordered by your child's doctor. Please use the In School Medication form for those needs. Please call me with any questions at 331-1816.
STUDY TIP OF THE WEEK
Whether it's memorizing vocabulary for a foreign language, mathematical formulas, or events in history, flashcards are an excellent way to review material and test comprehension. In foreign languages, use different colored ink to indicate
masculine and feminine or write the singular form on one side and the plural on another. When reviewing flashcards divide them into an "I Know It" pile and a "Need To Learn" pile. Have your student review until he/she has mastered each
card (and remember to have students study them both ways so they are prepared for either way material might be presented on a test).
NETCLASSROOM
"Netclassroom" is now available on the Hammond website. This will allow you to view your child's schedule, interim and report cards. Please call the Middle School office for password information.
