New Chamber policy committee to focus on business growth and tax policy
The Business Growth & Tax Policy Committee will hold its first meeting
Tuesday, April 1, 3-4:30 p.m. at the Chamber. Co-chaired by Chamber Board Members Karen Hathaway, Los Angeles Athletic Club, and Brandon Shamim, Beacon Management Group, the committee will focus on
policies and legislation related to taxes, business regulations, budget issues, economic development, workers' compensation and small business growth. The committee will work with local and state lawmakers to develop solutions to
improve our business climate and promote job creation. Join them to help build a new policy committee and address key issues facing the business community.

Chamber committee recommends private-public partnership
Dr. Hector Flores, White Memorial Medical Center, discussed his model for strengthening the South L.A. safety net while improving economic development in the area at the Chamber's Health Care Committee meeting Friday. The
committee’s recommendation to achieving this goal is to create a private-public partnership, which includes L.A. County, community clinics, community health centers, private independent practice associations and the business
