Mobility 21 pushing for economic recovery
President-elect Barack Obama has increased pressure recently on the incoming Congress to work immediately on an economic recovery plan that includes a focus on creating jobs through investment in transportation.
Congressional leaders have indicated that the package could be up to $600 billion, with a big portion going towards transportation. California transportation leaders are working together to make sure that as the nation's economic engine we
are prepared to put our construction industry back to work and do our part to get America back on its feet. Mobility 21 has been facilitating coordination to ensure that our region is positioned to be the leader in an economic recovery
package. Mobility 21 has visited local lawmakers in December and will meet key Congressional leaders in January to get Southern California moving again.

in 2009. Mobility 21 announced Friday that the Coalition has signed on as a supporter. Our efforts to create collaboration with other California stakeholders, while advocating for what Southern California needs, help Mobility 21 link the
success of our region to other areas of the state and strengthen our voice in Washington, D.C.
