You spoke and Mobility 21 listened
The results are in. Attendees at this year's Annual Southern California Transportation Summit found the event to be well-organized, with useful information presented by informative panels. Attendees appreciated the upbeat nature of the conference and the provocative nature of luncheon speaker Chris Steiner. But as always, there's room for improvement. Thanks to the feedback we received, look for these enhancements at next year's Summit:
• Better inclusion of regional perspectives and participation from leaders around the region
• An expanded expo with more exhibitors and more time in the expo
• More networking opportunities
• Breakout sessions in the morning and afternoon

OCTA travels to Washington, D.C.
Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) CEO and Mobility 21 Board member Will Kempton and OCTA Chairman Peter Buffa met with legislators in Washington D.C. on key transportation issues facing Southern California this week. OCTA held a series of Congressional leadership meetings with House Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman James Oberstar, Ranking Member John Mica, House Rail Subcommittee Chair Corrine Brown and Ranking Member Bill Shuster, as well as House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Jerry Lewis and Rep. Loretta Sanchez to discuss key issues of importance to our region's transportation stakeholders. Topics included the repeal of the SAFETEA-LU rescission, extension of the alternative fuel tax credit and reauthorization and support for high-speed rail.
