Mobility 21 Reaches out to the Inland Empire
Mobility 21 Executive Director Marnie O'Brien Primmer recently gave the address at the WTS Inland Empire Chapter's Oct. 22 luncheon. Primmer told the group of 80 transportation professionals that 2009 is a watershed year for transportation. "By joining Mobility 21," Primmer said, "You are raising a united voice for Southern California which will result in more investment in our transportation system and greater options for our transportation commissions." A week later, Primmer participated in a breakfast roundtable at Inland Action. Business leaders from across San Bernardino County discussed setting regional transportation priorities, needed improvements to the federal environmental process and Mobility 21's advocacy efforts for 2009.

Mobility 21 Supports Ventura's Transportation Goals
Mobility 21 Executive Director Marnie O'Brien Primmer joined Mobility 21 Board Member Darren Kettle of the Ventura County Transportation Commission on Nov. 20 to address members of the Regional Legislative Alliance of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. The morning event was attended by more than 80 local elected officials and business leaders, including Mobility 21 Board member Tom Kelley of the Ventura County Federated Chambers of Commerce. In the first panel of the morning, SAFETEA-LU Section 1909 Commission Chair Jack Schenendorf and Janet Kavinoky of the United States Chamber of Commerce set the stage for what's at stake for transportation in the coming year. The second panel, moderated by Hamid Bahadori of the Automobile Club of Southern California, focused on coalition-building and the importance of the business community in creating a successful local transportation strategy.
