Quick News: Updates to MyTeamCaptain

MyTeamCaptain Technology Update

We have just completed a few upgrades to MyTeamCaptain that you may be interested in. Many thanks to Larry, a League Manager for several hockey leagues in southern California, who made these suggestions.

1. You can now cancel events. When you click on an event in the calendar (under the Schedule tab), there are now 5 new Event Types, corresponding to cancelled versions of the original 5 event types (game, scrimmage, etc). Cancelled events show up with pink backgrounds to the text inside the calendar.

You're probably thinking "why would I cancel an event, rather than just delete it?" The main reason is so your players know when an event has been moved due to a schedule change, they are aware of the old date of the event. After you change an event to "Cancelled", you will need to send an email out to your players letting them know (use the Email function on the Active Teams/Leagues page to do this). Players will no longer receive reminder emails for attendance to events that have been cancelled.

2. To help reduce confusion, the Create New Season link (also in the Schedule page) has been made a brighter blue.

3. Some League Managers were reporting some difficulties with creating new leagues (the Leagues screen) in Firefox. We were able to identify the problem with the Firefox browser and make a workaround, so this page should be functioning normally now.

As always, we appreciate any feedback you have and hope that you are enjoying MyTeamCaptain! Stay tuned for more upgrades coming soon!

Until next time,

Lars and Rocky
