MyTeamCaptain - not just for sports teams any more
We have officially begun a new era in MyTeamCaptain capability with the launch of our new team type system. You can now use MyTeamCaptain to manage all kinds of teams, from corporate teams to alumni groups to networking
circles. It's all available to you now.
In support of this, we also have begun launching websites dedicated to those various team types. You can check out
MyTeamHelper.com and
MyTeamOrganizer.com, which are live now. These sites work just like MyTeamCaptain, so there's no need for you to set up a new account for them if you already have a MyTeamCaptain account.
Just log in to your existing MyTeamCaptain account and start managing all kinds of teams. It doesn't get any more convenient than that!
MyTeamCaptain Technology Update
1. New team types. On the Teams screen, you can now create teams of different types. Simply select a team type and watch as the New Team box updates the team information fields to match the team
type you selected. The system is smart enough to know that if you aren't managing a sports team, the "players" should be called something else.

Select your team type first and see the rest of the fields update automatically
2. Easy player download. You can download a tab-delimited textfile of player data on the Players screen, at the bottom of the player summary data.
3. Setting gender for players. You can now define genders for each of your players in the Players screen. This is important because of our next upgrade...
4. Capping attendance by gender. MyTeamCaptain can help you limit the total number of male or female players that attend an event. This is useful for co-ed leagues where you can't have too many of any particular
gender. You will see the attendance limit in the Events popup on the Schedule screen.
5. Improved the SMS attendance summary to captains. The attendance summary text messages sent to captains before the games now are easier to read, with better message breaks if the message is long enough to require more
than one message.
6. O whither art thou, Microsoft? Some of you may have switched to the new Outlook 2007 and noticed a marked change in how HTML email is rendered (for the worse). Now, while
no one can explain why Microsoft took such a huge step backword in the world of email, we want to ensure maximum compatibility for everyone. As a result, you will notice some of your notification messages will look a little
different. Someday, if Microsoft figures out that degrading technology actually hurts the consumer, we may be able to switch our designs back, but for now, we figured you would prefer emails that function a little better for
everyone.
Quick Reminder for Team Captains
Remember to enter the scores from your games - the new MyTeamCaptain community wants to know about your victories, so enter your scores on the Schedule page and bask in the glory! And don't forget
to
tell your friends about MyTeamCaptain!
On the Burner
1. Stay tuned for the new Media tab, coming soon to your Captain and Player interfaces. We have finished the conceptual design of the interface and will start developing this over the next several weeks. You will be able to
store pictures, files, and link to videos in one convenient interface.
2. AdCenter. We are working on a way for advertisers to place their ads on MyTeamCaptain. We are also looking to do some profit sharing with captains, so that if a team's players and fans click on links and generate revenue, the captain
and the team can benefit.
Thank you!
As always, we appreciate any
feedback you have and hope that you are enjoying MyTeamCaptain! Stay tuned for more upgrades coming soon!
Until next time,
Lars and Rocky
