Greetings from MyTeamCaptain! - 07 Aug 2007 www.myteamcaptain.com

Files, Pictures, and Video - Oh My!

There has been a flurry of activity around the MyTeamCaptain offices in the past few weeks.  We have just completed one of the biggest upgrades in recent history - the ability to store files, images, and video in your MyTeamCaptain account.  We haven't neglected some of our other high priority projects, either, so read on and soak it all in - we are growing and we're taking you with us.

MyTeamCaptain Technology Update

1.  New section - MEDIA.   The new Media page represents a big step for MyTeamCaptain users, providing a single place to store files, images, and video.  We would like to give you a brief tour of what you'll see when you log in.

All media is conveniently associated with either a directory or an event.  As captains, you can create as many directories as you would like.  Inside each directory or event, you can store files available for download, images (we automatically create thumbnails for you), and video (linking to videos you upload to YouTube).

Each media piece you store in MyTeamCaptain can be shared with all teams, your players, fans, or general visitors to your website - you choose who sees what.

The new Media section

2.  New fansite functionality.  Fansites now look and function much cleaner.  Instead of having the calendar, players, and stats stretching down the page, those sections are now opened with a menu at the top of the page.  It works more like a real webpage, except faster.

3.  New fansite templates.  Thanks to the guys at digital-telepathy for cranking out some sweet looking template designs for your fansites.  Last time we told you about the various new types of teams you can create, and now we have fansite templates to match.

Quick Reminder for Team Captains

Remember to enter the scores from your games - the new MyTeamCaptain community wants to know about your victories, so enter your scores on the Schedule page and bask in the glory!  And don't forget to  tell your friends about MyTeamCaptain!

On the Burner

1. AdCenter. We are working on a way for advertisers to place their ads on MyTeamCaptain. We are also looking to do some profit sharing with captains, so that if a team's players and fans click on links and generate revenue, the captain and the team can benefit.

2.  More functionality for league managers.  We're going to give a little more flexibility to league managers to help them better maintain communication with all the players in the league, including a league-based fansite.

Thank you!

As always, we appreciate any feedback you have and hope that you are enjoying MyTeamCaptain! Stay tuned for more upgrades coming soon!

A history of previous upgrade announcements is available on our Technology History page.

Until next time,
