Spreading our wings
We have been expanding our network here at MyTeamCaptain, and it's all for your benefit. Last month we told you about the new kinds of teams we've created. Each team type, which you specify on the Teams page when you create the
team, is going to have its own portal website. We have created 7 websites and have more in development.
Technology Update
We have been focusing so much on launching the new sites that we haven't made any really big upgrades to the core system.
1. On the players screen, the "All Players" section has been renamed to "All Contacts" to make things a little more generic (since, after all, we are adding the ability to have teams that may not be all comprised of sports team
players).
2. Fixed a few bugs with the event manager. Also added some new event types.
3. We've tweaked some of the layouts for your fansites (a.k.a. public websites) for your teams to be more friendly with all kinds of web browsers.
On the Burner
1. AdCenter. We are working on a way for
advertisers to place their ads on MyTeamCaptain. We are also looking to do some
profit sharing with captains, so that if a team's players and fans click on
links and generate revenue, the captain and the team can benefit.
2. More functionality for league managers. We're going to give a little
more flexibility to league managers to help them better maintain communication
with all the players in the league, including a league-based fansite.
