Accept Pending Members..they ask, you accept, they're in! 

When we started MyTeamCaptain, it was simply a way to make managing our hockey team a little bit easier. The team only had 20 guys on the roster and we had a pretty good solution in place.  Now that our good solution is growing into a popular social networking solution for scouting and networking groups with hundreds of members and alumni groups with thousands, we're committed to making the necessary adjustments to make life easier for the organizers.  One of our latest adjustments is the ability to have members request to join your group without you first entering their information.  The newly-released Pending Members feature takes care of this problem...they ask, you accept, they're in!

Import your contacts from Yahoo, Gmail, or MSN/Hotmail.
Our latest import advancement gives you the ability to copy your Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo contacts into your team account safely and accurately.

More Flexible Emailing Tools!

This is just one of the many features offered in our Premium account. For less than the cost of one gallon of premium gas a month you can upgrade to a Premium account and start enjoying the benefits today!

It's easy to upgrade - simply change the status on your My Account page to start enjoying the many benefits that come with having a Premium Account.

Technology Update

1.  Pending Members (accepting requests to join your team).  You can now accept new members of your team automatically - all through your team website.  They ask, you accept, they're in!

Once the request is made on your homepage a simple, safe procedure is followed:
  • The pending member receives an email confirming that the email address entered is valid and legitimate
  • The team leader/captain then receives a notification by email that a new pending member is ready to be added to the team
  • The team leader/captain logs into his or her account to accept or deny the pending member - the pending member is automatically notified of their new status
  • Once accepted, the pending member is added to the team and can log in just like any other player or team member

  • Make sure you have a website homepage set up so you can take advantage of this great new feature!

2.
  Import your contacts from Yahoo, Gmail, or MSN/Hotmail. 
On the Players/Members screen, under Import, you now have new ways to add contacts.  Simply click on the green Import link and choose your method - they're all easy.

Check out the CSV Import, which allows for comma-delimited importing of many contacts at once.  You can provide as much detailed information as you like for each contact.

Remember that one of the many benefits of upgrading to a Premium Account is the ability to import and activate contacts all in one quick and easy step.  Save time and make your life easier for under $5 a month!


3.  Bringing stuff to events.  You may already know that you can assign team members to bring items to your events when you look at event details.  The Events List page in your calendar now can give you the names and assignments of who is supposed to bring what to your events - all in one place.  Just click on the "Show Items for Events" link and you'll see details for each event under each event title.  Many thanks to Dan in Phoenix for this suggestion!

4.  Save and Activate New Players / Members.  On the Players/Members page, when you add a new player or member, you can now "Save + Activate" that new player, saving a step in the team building process.

On the Burner

1.  User Permissions.  You asked and we listened!  Soon you will be able to give certain members of your team access to varying levels of administrative functions on your site.  Rather than handle every task yourself, you can simply set up an assistant's account that allows this individual to create events, modify rosters, or whatever you choose to allow!

2.  Surveys.  We're working on a way to send out a survey to all or some of your team members and conveniently compile results.

3. AdCenter. All of the ads served on the MyTeamCaptain network are now using our new AdCenter.  We're working on the interface for advertisers, so stay tuned for the beta release announcement!  In the meantime, if you would like to place a targeted ad on our network of 20 websites, please contact us at sales@myteamcaptain.com.
