Sexual Harassment Training Now Required by Law!

AB 1825: New provision to the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) September 29, 2004, Gov. Schwarzenegger

New Requirements for Employers:

• Employers must now meet state-imposed minimum requirements for initial and continual training.
• Employers have until January 1, 2006 to provide two hours of sexual harassment training and education to all supervisory employees.
• After January 1, 2006, employers must train new supervisors within six months of them assuming a supervisory position.
• Requires employers who regularly employ 50 or more employees (including sub-contractors, part-time, and out of state employees) to train supervisors on sexual harassment every two years.
