Cooler Tips #35 - Discussion Groups
New Features

Discussion Groups

Using CoolerEmail's new "Discussion Group" list feature, it is easy to enable your recipients to continue "email discussions" regarding topics introduced in your newsletter! Just as with your other CoolerEmail lists, you can choose to make your Discussion Group lists "public" (i.e., anybody can subscribe) or "private" (i.e., exclusive membership). In fact, you can join our new CoolerEmail Discussion List today by clicking the Update Profile link at the bottom of this email!

To activate the Discussion List feature on one of your mailing lists, go to the list settings and indicate you would like the discussion group feature activated. This will enable all of your list members to "Reply to Group" (all of the other members of this list) using a custom form at the bottom of your message. Subsequent Replies to Group will have your banner at the top, the Reply message, and another Reply to Group form!

Each Reply to Group message is sent to all valid members of your mailing list, but is only accessible so long as they are part of the list (members can be removed at anytime). And since each Reply to Group message carries your banner (defined in the List Settings for the list) at the top, promoting your company to each of the members of the Discussion Group.

If you would like, you can also add a custom thank-you URL for your discussion group list which people will automatically be directed to after sending a message to the group.

Activating a Discussion Group is very inexpensive - each Reply to Group email sent just adds to your monthly total. Promoting your brand and generating interest in your organization has never been easier!

New Tabs Tutorial

If you haven't already done so, please visit the CoolerEmail tabs tutorial --- it is a great resource for learning about the new and more powerful functionality of the CoolerEmail tabs system. An extra big thanks to the world-class programmers at www.webpagemaintenance.com for their outstanding work in bringing the tutorial to life!

Profile Update Thank You Page

Based on some user suggestions, we upgraded the List Settings page so you can now provide a website that people go to after updating their profile (one of the links at the bottom of each CoolerEmail you send). This is a good way to include an incentive for your recipients to update their profiles, especially if the Profile Update Thank You page is a coupon or provides some other benefit to the subscriber.
