Cooler Tips #37 - - New Tools For Managing Your CoolerEmail Campaigns!

Hello CoolerEmail Subscriber!

This CoolerTips is full of information --- our tech team has been working hard responding to your requests for new CoolerEmail tools and enhanced functions to help you be more successful!

Graphically Track Open Rates by the Hour
If you're like most, you've probably found yourself repeatedly refreshing the Stats page to monitor how many of your recipients open your CoolerEmails and how soon after receipt. And, although we've all read the research on the best day to send out emails for optimum response, it's still good to really KNOW when those emails get read.

Now, added below the bar charts and numbers for each Edition is a new graph that shows the day and hour when your CoolerEmails are opened, so you can fine tune future CoolerEmail deployments. (See that nice graph just to the right?). Also, in your "Contacts" section, there is a new feature - View Reads. When clicked it shows the date and time that recipient opened your CoolerEmail.

New List Creation Tool Makes Follow-up Even Easier
On the Stats page, you've always been able to click and open a new window with a Detailed Tracking list. Now, you can immediately create a New List and New Edition from these lists. Just scroll to the bottom of the Detailed Tracking window and click Create New List! No more procrastinating until you "have more time"! Of course, you can still capture those email addresses by copying and pasting into Excel.

New Document Library Folder System
You can now set up separate folders in your Document Library to organize your files by project, document type, or date. You can even move files from one folder to another. Downloads are displayed in a bar chart by folder as well as for each file.

When you access the Document Folder, open the Main folder. At the bottom of the page, you will find the expanded windows for organizing your files exactly as you wish.

New Import Function
On the Contacts page for a specific mailing list you can now import new contacts into that list.

At the bottom of the Import page, under the Exclude tool, you can Add To This List based on criteria from your Master CRM.

Example:
Mailing List "CaliforniaList" has 5 records. You have added new subscribers into the Master CRM, but haven't updated your list "CaliforniaList" in a while. You now want to add everyone in your MasterCRM that has "CA" in the State field.

At the bottom of the Import page for that list using the dropdown menus, you select Import Where "State" "has" "CA" and it will automatically bring in everyone from the Master List with CA in the state field. Note: The more information you include for each person in your database, the more targeted and effective you can make your messages.

A new "View" in the Master CRM
The "View" view of a contact (as opposed to the "Edit" view, which is what you're used to seeing in the Master CRM) is a more compact look at a contact's data in the Master CRM. This new View is now the default view mode when you click on a contact's email address in the "Contacts" page for a mailing list. The "Edit" view still gives you the complete Profile window with all information.

When you access Master CRM you will see two buttons next to each contact's email address - View and Edit. You can access each one from the other - there is an Edit button in View mode, and a "Save and View" button in Edit mode.

Send to Lots of Friends and Colleagues
The old saying goes, "Share and share alike!" CoolerEmail just made that easier to do with the newest addition to the Auto-Subscribe page with the Referral Programs form. Just click on the Referral Programs link at the top of the page to access your automatically generated HTML code to add a form to a CoolerEmail or a Web page that allows visitors to refer their friends to you by email.

Make all your lists available for subscription or edit the code to show only those lists you want to make available. Friends will be able to click on a link in the email they receive and automatically be added to any or all of your mailing lists. The email the friends receive can be any edition already existing in your account.

But, I'm Not A Spammer!
By Brian Klais - Optin News

In case you haven't heard, California's new spam law prohibits the sending of unsolicited email advertisements starting January 1, 2004.While the law is aimed at spammers, its wake is rippling towards every legitimate email marketer. Why? Because the bill takes an "opt-in" approach, similar to what the European Union has adopted. It makes it illegal for you to market to someone who a) you do NOT have a pre-existing transactional relationship with, or b) who has NOT given you direct consent to contact. It applies to any email address that is utilized by a resident of, or accessed from California. How many people does this include on your list? You're not sure? Gulp. [Read More]

Forbes.com Breaks Down Execs' Web Use

This article written by Brian Morrissey reveals that executives rely on the Web for information, communication and research during their workdays....

The average workday for the high-level executive begins with e-mail, as 82 percent reported checking their in-boxes before getting down to work. More than half (54 percent) used the Web for research.

A more recent study shows this is not a passing fancy. The Web is proving to be an indispensable tool for global executives, as a pair of joint studies conducted by Survey.com for Forbes.com and GartnerG2 indicate.

Pinpoint Tools has an updated plug-in for ACT! Users of CoolerEmail. It does not add any new functionality but improves the overall performance of the Plugin. The new build number is 2.0.12 and is available for download at http://www.cooleremail.com/resources_act.shtml.

Anyone who has any older version installed should update to this version, especially if they had any problems before. Just install on top of the existing copy. There is no need to uninstall first.
