What's next with CAN SPAM
The CAN SPAM Act officially went into effect on January 1, 2004. Some refinement of the Act, and more details regarding certain provisions, can be expected in the near future. Here's a quick summary:
-
May 1, 2004: Regulations expected for adding "clearly identifiable marks or notices" to email with certain proscribed content to facilitate filtering;
-
July 1, 2004: Initial plan for Do-Not-E-Mail Registry expected to be announced;
-
October 1, 2004: Regulations to be released regarding the protection of consumers from commercial e-mail messages delivered to their wireless devices (e.g., cell phones and pagers);
-
January 1, 2005: Regulations expected to be released defining purpose of an e-mail to show whether it's commercial or transactional/relationship;
-
July 1, 2005: Proposal for subject-line labeling of commercial messages (e.g., use of "ADV") expected to be announced
-
January 1, 2006: Report expected on how successful the CAN SPAM law has been with suggestions for additional measures.
A final thought on CAN SPAM
Complying with the CAN SPAM Act is many ways boils down to using common sense and being responsible. By being considerate and only sending messages to only those people who want to receive your messages, the CAN SPAM act should not be
present any major issues for you.
Dedicated IP addresses
CoolerEmail proudly offers the highest deliverability rates in the industry. We achieve this by proactively making sure that only optin email addresses are delivered from our system and through our long-standing relationships with ISP's
from around the world who have "white-listed" our servers. In addition, CoolerEmail has been part of the industry leading
Ironport Bonded Sender™ program from the very beginning. Our hard-line stance against spam, a long-standing reputation for sending only opt-in messages, and our ISP relationships ensure your email gets delivered!
In addition, we also offer our higher-volume clients the option of having their very own dedicated IP address from which they (and only they) can send emails. If your company is looking to use an email ASP but wants to avoid having your
emails associated with emails from other companies using the same IP address, a dedicated IP address from CoolerEmail may be the answer you have been looking for!
Please contact
sales@cooleremail.com for more information on setting up your own dedicated IP address for your CoolerEmail account.
Dynamic Data Upgrades
CoolerEmail's rules-based mail merge function now is easier to use than ever. You can now import and export rules from other editions with a single mouse click!
