Cooler Tips #54 |
When is the last time you asked?
Talking to your clients, prospects and customers is an important aspect of your business and this is why you have picked CoolerEmail as your email marketing engine. But what about these people talking to you? What do they think about your
site, email marketing, frequency of campaigns and the offers you provide? Have you ever asked?
The Tracking and Reporting Tools in CoolerEmail can allow you to gauge the response rates, click through rates track the conversions through the site (if you are using
CoolerTracks), but using the survey tools, you can open up a dialogue that will be more beneficial to your overall marketing strategy both online and offline.
We believe that you should survey your customers, clients and prospects at least once a quarter. Engage them and make them part of the process. The more you allow them to provide you feedback, the more that they will feel an emotional
connection with the company and your brand.
For a great whitepaper on the Customer Lifecycle Value and when to survey, look at
http://www.eroidelivers.com. At the bottom left hand of the home page you will find a link to the guide.
This leads us to the new improvements we recently released to the
CoolerEmail Survey Tools.
1. Survey questions can now have up to 10 responses
(labeled A through J)
2. You can now create branching surveys, so that based on the response, you can set a different Next Question.
3. You can now prevent someone from changing their answer, once it has been answered.
4. Tracking of open text questions has been improved.
5. The system will display remembered responses to questions. That is, if someone submitted a response to a question and then went back to take the survey again, it will remember and display the old response to the question (this works
with all question types)
6. Survey graphs only display bars for valid answers - that is, if you only define answers A through C, the bar chart will only display 3 bars (previously it would always show 5 bars regardless of the number of valid answers there were for
the question).
7. Open text field question responses are now shown on the edition Tracking (stats) page
If you have any questions or feedback about this upgrade, please let us know. |

SMS Opt in and Messaging Now Live
After a solid beta test of the new SMS Opt in and Messaging system that we have added to the CoolerEmail platform, we have moved it LIVE. Now you have the ability to let your subscribers opt in for messages to their cell phone or PDAs.
This is a great feature which allows you to reach your customers while they are out, at your event or even at a trade show to let them know to visit your booth.
CoolerEmail integrates your SMS (short message service for mobile phones) and email marketing into one system. You can build SMS lists with the help of double-opt-in website subscription forms.
Building an SMS message is easy - it's just like using the Text Only Message layout in your Edition Editor. Simply type your message, up to 110 characters, and click the Save Changes button. The preview function works the same way.
Once you are ready to send your SMS message, you may do so with the usual Send screen. You will notice the page is slightly different, but the same functions are available.
There is no tracking information available on SMS messages, due to limitations of how SMS works.
Pricing for your SMS messages is just like your emails. Each SMS message counts as one email sent.

System Upgrade
In order to keep CoolerEmail "Cooler" we will be upgrading the system this Saturday, February 12th 2005, from 11am to 2pm.
Access to your account will be unavailable during that time.

RSS Feed Upgrade
We have added a new RSS Feed archiving function that is appropriately stored in the "Archive" button. This now allows you to control what editions in what lists are associated with the RSS feeds you produce. The benefit for this is that if
you have 12 month of news and editions in one list that you want to add an RSS feed to, you can go into the Archive section and select which editions you want to hide.
Read the news from last month on the new RSS Feed from CT #53
