Marketing to the Global Inbox
Now that online marketers are realizing the huge potential of expanding their efforts internationally, it is important to learn the differences in email best practices from one country to another. However, there is one common denominator
upon reviewing email marketing laws worldwide: opt-in.
Clearswift, has released a poll of over 1,200 business people around the world, concentrated in Germany, France, Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The poll found that 84 percent of businesses are unaware of local spam
laws.
The following is a synopsis on email marketing laws worldwide. (Please note this is the first review of a three-piece segment.)

New Features!
Always leading the way for the email industry, we are proud to announce several new Cooler Features. These features are classic "cooler". They are powerful yet simple to use... and always, provide you a significant advantage over your
competition.... HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :)
Increased Allowable Cases to 999
We were the first to offer an easy way to "mail merge" your CRM data (e.g., name, company, birthday interests, etc.) into email. Over the years, based on client requests, we have steadily expanded the number of fields that you can keep
track of in CoolerEmail and mail merge into your campaigns.
Early on, 99 dynamic data fields was plenty. But with bigger and bigger (and more and more sophisticated clients) joining the Cooler team, it was time to expand - again!
With the latest seemless upgrade, CoolerEmail is proud to now offer 999 dynamic data fields! So whether you are simply using CoolerEmail as your company's master contact database or precising refining dynamically generated
messages based on sophisticated rule sets, you have plenty of room to grow with CoolerEmail.
Dynamic Data - New Interface
Always working towards perfection, the Cooler Engineering team (yes, some of them were groomed by a certain German sportcars company before joining CoolerEmail!) just refined and turbo-charged the Dynamic Data interface. It is now more
nimble and more powerful, kind of like a next-generation sports car for email marketing!
Advanced Dynamic Data Import Option - flat files (i.e, *pipe* delimited databases)
If you are a CoolerEmail power user who prefers flat files to XML, we just made your day! Large complex rulesets no longer need to be maintained through our interface. If you would like, you can keep your rules in an excel spreadsheet, or
other flat file, and import them directly into our CoolerEmail. This makes it especially easy for large-database clients who are just finally making the transition to CoolerEmail to get up to speed as quickly as possible.
Link to HTML Version in Text Only Message Part
CoolerEmail led the way with making the HTML version of your messages easily available to your Text Only recipients. We have expanded your flexibility with this now, giving you the choice to provide this link at the top, bottom, or in
both locations of your Text Only message part. You can find this selection at the bottom of your Edition Editor.
New and improved Custom Double Opt-In Code
We just revamped our website subscription wizards --- now by adding a simple snippet of code (generated on the fly by the CoolerEmail website wizard) to your lead capture forms you can create create custom double opt-in forms. Be sure to
remember to create a new email edition in a list and specify it in the code.
Find an example in the HELP section of your CoolerEmail Account by typing in "Double Opt-In" into the Knowledge Base search.
New Add Record Functions
We added some really cool functionality to the Add New and Add Copy functions in the Master CRM. Now, when adding new contacts in the CRM, you can add their contact info directly into the user fields (no longer is their a need to input
the data on separate screen)!
More infrastructure.... more IP addresses
CoolerEmail continually leads the industry in deliverability. Whether you are broadcasting from our self-service system, a bonded sender frequency, or have your very own dedicated CoolerEmail IP address, your deliverability through
CoolerEmail is sure to be unsurpassed.
For those clients recently converting to CoolerEmail from legacy-type email providers who need their own IP address, we are just finishing process of setting up and whitelisting a new bank of IP addresses with the leading ISPs around the
world... so if you would like your own IP address for 2006, now is the time to ask!
