Your Broadcast History |
Search Your History
No, we're not talking about genealogy. We're talking Broadcast History.
It is now searchable by date range, and you can export your results directly to Excel. Simply look in the "Snapshot" area in the account manager and click into the "Created" link under "Last Broadcast," or you
can click the "My Account" tab and then the "Broadcast History" menu item. You'll find boxes above the column grid labeled "From" and "To" where you can enter dates and search your whole broadcast history by
date. Notice the dropdown menus for "send type" and "status" while you're there. To export the data, click on the "Export" button. These features will make it easier to analyze data for marketing purposes. |

Using Anchors |
Using Anchors or Targets to Reference Articles
You can easily create links to other parts of your email using "anchor" (also referred to as "target") tags.
These links reference various locations in your message marked with ‹a name="something"›. To link to this location in your email, simply create a link that looks like this: ‹a
href="#something"›click here‹/a›. This will create a clickable link that will instantly move the page to wherever the ‹a
name="something"› marker is.
Please note: The clickable link location begins with a '#' whereas the target link does not. |

Cooler Humor |
Email Marketing in 2028
A humorous look at what email marketing may look like in 2028...
In a recent
Email-Marketing-Reports.com. article, Mark Brownlow predicts, among many things:
• Email designers complain bitterly about rendering problems with Outlook 2027.
• 40 percent of retailers do not design their emails for blocked holograms.
• You can still buy 1 million email addresses for $99. It's still a bad idea.
It's light reading that will make even the sternest email marketing tech wizard crack a smile.
We are always striving to make CoolerEmail ever better. Customer requests for feature enhancements are responsible for many additions. If you have feedback or suggestions, please send them to

THE COOLER CLIENT PROFILE: |
Glenn Paul of dotPhoto
Glenn Paul is the president and co-founder of
dotPhoto.com, an online service enabling people to share, print, and sell photos and videos. One key feature is the "dotPhoto Show," a Web service that creates multimedia Flash presentations with music, text, "Ken
Burns" effects, photos and videos online. The company just launched a site for photo book creation software,
dotPhoto EuroBook, on July 3. Based in West Trenton, N.J., dotPhoto.com was launched in 1999 and has been named the No. 1 photo sharing site by TopTen Reviews for three years running.
Cooler Tips: Glenn, describe how you utilize CoolerEmail to communicate with your customers.
Glenn: Most of dotPhoto's marketing is viral: People who discover our service seem to like it and invite their friends. However, we're always adding new services, features and products, and we are always
concerned with the basic problem on the web -- "out of sight, out of mind" -- so we email our customer base once a week. We know that all people don't read the emails all the time, but they see our name, and the next time they think of
digital photography, we'll be top of mind. Thirteen percent of our customer base visits dotPhoto more than 30 times a month, and these people also tend to read the emails. We try to make reading worth their while by including site tips,
new features and an email-only promotion. dotPhoto hosts more than 2 million images, and we mail about 360,000 newsletters each week. We also maintain a
blog, with newsletters and other items.
Cooler Tips: What significant things have you learned from analyzing the real-time statistics CoolerEmail provides for each edition you send?
Glenn: By analyzing open rates, click-throughs and F2F, we have been able to tell which offers at what time of day appeal most to our membership base. For example, we get better open rates from morning
emails. Utilizing this information has allowed us to build an email marketing program consisting of information and offers our members respond to and enjoy. For instance, we discovered that our members really enjoy our newsletter-style
format that contains helpful hints and tips allowing them to get the most out of their dotPhoto membership, information on new features available, and some "ad-vertorial style" content on any site-wide sales or promotions.
Cooler Tips: What methods do you use to build your contact list?
Glenn: dotPhoto adds new joins weekly to our list. We've tried co-reg programs, search engine marketing and more, but what works best to keep our list growing and our readers attentive and involved is
offering credible content in every communication.
Cooler Tips: How has CoolerEmail helped to improve your business or organization?
Glenn: Email has become more and more difficult to conduct as the Web has become more security and spam conscious, so we're glad to have a partner like CoolerEmail that maintains that channel of
communication. During periods in which we stop mailing, we see a definite decrease in sales. The most definitive response we see is direct customer contact. Recently, we held a contest in which we offered a free photo book for the best
answers to the question, "Why are you dotPhoto's best customer?" We learned a lot about our customers and received a lot of recommendations that we can use in promoting the site. We've also used email to announce important promotions like
our 8th Anniversary Print Sale and our price reduction last month.
