Every year the Community Cycling Center makes holiday dreams come true through the Holiday Bike Drive. This program provides reconditioned bikes, new helmets and a holiday party for 1,000 very deserving children.

"This is a wonderful program," said Jenine Macon, whose daughter Emma got her first bike through the Holiday Bike Drive last year. "I'm a community resources advocate with five children, and believe me, they wouldn't be getting new bikes for Christmas if not for the Community Cycling Center."

The Holiday Bike Drive is the CCC's largest event of the year, but they don't pull it off alone.   Sponsor a child today for $50 and make those holiday dreams come true.

The much-anticipated annual PUMP swap meet is coming up on November 20th from 11-3.   It's held at The Friendly House, 1737 NW 26th & Thurman (Located one block east of the Fat Tire Farm).   The meager $2 entry fee benefits PUMP's efforts to promote safe responsible mountain biking on sustainable trails.

Wow!   Cyclocross has totally taken over Portland this season, and we here at ORbike are loving it!   We're getting muddy on the weekends as we soak in the action watching totally skillful riders like Rhonda Mazza (Womens A) and Matthew Slaven (fixed gear) - to name just two of very many.   Read more about cyclocross on our blog.   There is just one more race left in this season's series.
