PORTLAND BICYCLE SUMMIT | June 17 - Portland |
Bicycling Magazine calls Portland the number one bicycling city in all of North America. The League of American Bicyclists
rates Portland "Gold" along with four other U.S. cities. The next level is platinum and no large city has yet gotten there. Commissioner Sam Adams and the bicycling community want to go "Platinum" and they want your help.
On Saturday, June 17 from 8:30 to 1:30 pm, you are invited to join neighborhood and bicycling advocates at the Portland Bike Summit at PSU's Smith Hall. It's an opportunity to learn how Portland got to be the best in the U.S. and find out
about all the exciting and fun ways you can get involved to make Portland a world-class bicycling city. From the local "I Share the Road" campaign to presentations on international bikeways and everything in between, the summit is full
of interesting and interactive workshops. Registration is free and lunch is included.

PACIFIC CREST TRIATHLON | June 23-25 - Sunriver |
Each year during the last weekend in June multi-sport athletes from across the country converge on Central Oregon to take
part in the Pacific Crest Triathlon (PCT). 2006 marks the 10th anniversary for this event, which has come a long way since it's inception. As the jewel of long course triathlons here in the Northwest, the PCT has become a destination race
for athletes across the nation.
Triathletes say PCT is by far one if the most scenic course they have raced. Coupled with the finish in an exquisite five star destination resort, it is the perfect family vacation weekend. The event is expected to sell out, so the
organizers recommend you register as soon as possible. There is only enough room for 1,000 bikes in the triathlon and endurance duathlon.
