BEAT THE BURNSIDE | June 25th - Portland |
Close the street, close the bridge, close the river...Burnside is mine!
On Sunday, June 25th runners get to stream down from the World Forestry Center, through Forest Park and stampede along a closed-off Burnside Street - racing toward the Burnside Bridge. Start as late as you want, but at 9:00 the bridge
goes up and only the runners who time it just right will make it to the party side. Beat the Burnside is an 8 kilometer run or walk that's perfect for all ages.
Portland's most scenic 8k run and walk travels through stunning Washington Park. For three miles the course winds through this jewel of Portland's parks. After that it is straight down the West Burnside to the bridge with a total elevation
drop of 650' along the course. Unlike most runs and walks, the personally-chosen start times means there will not be a crowd at the starting line. The crowds - those of you who accurately plan your start time - are at the finish line.
The party is on the far side of the bridge - don't be late. Shout it with us: Burnside is mine!

THE NIGHT RIDE | July 8 - Portland |
If all that daytime riding leaves you wondering what the city looks like at night, maybe it's time you signed up for The
Night Ride. Come along on Portland's only nighttime ride for spectacular cityscape views and a chance to cruise past hootin' and hollerin' night life - your very own cheering section. The ride will take you past hot fire jugglers,
through a disco party rest stop (where you can be a wallflower or join the action) and drop you right back where you started for a midnight doughnut feast. The Night Ride is a benefit for the Bicycle Transportation Alliance.
The festivities get started right across from the train station at 8:00 pm. There will be prizes for the best pajama clad and costumed riders, so don't be shy. TriMet will be on hand to demystify using a bust bike rack and answer all
your transit questions. The Last Regiment Syncopated Drummers will send riders off with their signature resounding beat and all 2,000 riders will receive free glow-necklaces to ward off vampires along the way. Daytime rides are for
chumps, it's time for The Night Ride.
