REACH THE BEACH PACKET PARTY | April 30 - Portland
In May all roads lead to the beach in Pacific City for Reach the Beach, a 2,000 rider benefit for the American Lung Association of Oregon. There are five great routes of different lengths including a full century out of Portland. Register online or come down to REI and register at the Packet Pickup Party this Sunday, April 30th.

If you're already registered, you can pick up your registration packet and rider number at the party. We'll have great food, coffee from Nossa Familia, health and nutrition information, new products from Clif Bar and more. You'll have to come down to see for yourself. REI downtown, NW 14th and Johnson from 7:00-9:00 pm.
MONDAY NIGHT RACING | May - August - Portland
Summertime means Monday night racing at Portland International Raceway (PIR). The Monday night series attracts hundreds cyclists to race on a traffic-free racecourse that's fun for riders of all skill levels. Building upon a successful track record as one of the most popular weeknight bicycle race series in the nation, The Lakeside Bicycles Monday Night Masters and Women race series kicks off its 10th year at PIR on Monday, May 1. Experienced racers from local racing teams are on hand each night to provide guidance and answer questions.

"It is a luxury to have such an excellent quality course that's completely closed to
car traffic and so close to town for riders to enjoy racing in Portland's long summer evenings," says Jim Anderson, series organizer. Racers who carpool, come by bike or take MAX receive $1 off entry and $1 is donated to the Bicycle Transportation Alliance. Top racers win Lakeside Bicycles gift certificates, but the emphasis is on learning, improving while having a great time at PIR.
SPRING THAW | May 6,7 - Ashland
Spring Thaw, Oregon's largest mountain bike race, is an exhilarating two days of racing and riding in the balmy Spring weather of Southern Oregon. This year's event features $18,000 in cash and merchandise prizes. Whether you are about to enter your first event, or are a seasoned pro, the Thaw will tickle your knobbies like no other event can.

This year the Spring Thaw Mountain Bike Festival is participating in the BreakAway MTB Race Series. For the first time ever, Southern Oregon's and Northern California's premiere Cross Country and Downhill Mountain Bike Events will participate in an exclusive race series. But remember, you don't have to participate in the series to enter the Spring Thaw. The Thaw is for everyone.
YAQUINA LIGHTHOUSE CENTURY | August 20 - Yaquina
The Yaquina Lighthouse Century, hosted by the Yaquina Wheels Bike Club, is one of the most beautiful rides in Oregon. The course takes you past crashing waves on quite backwaters along three different routes. Riders also pass by the historic Yaquina Head lighthouse and the Yaquina Bay lighthouse. From there it's on to some of the most picturesque back road riding with panoramic ocean, bay and river views.

Choose your route: a short 25 mile, a metric century and a century. You've got plenty of time to plan ahead, book a day on the coast and experience the sea side the way it was meant to be experienced: on your bike.
