REACH THE BEACH | May 19 - Oregon |
Reach the Beach is the major fundraiser for the American Lung Association of Oregon. Every pedal stroke helps promote clean
Oregon air and healthy Oregon lungs. You'll meander along quiet, gorgeous rural roads in search of a spectacular beach party in Pacific City. Register before April 11th and you'll pay only $25 for the entry fee.
Riders have a $50 fundraising goal to meet, and the Lung Association makes it easy to reach that goal. They have also added in some pretty sweet fundraising prizes for motivated fundraisers. Top fundraisers will get a pass to the sold-out
Cycle Oregon 20th Anniversary Ride in September. Riders can also qualify for a Trek 3700 , a top-of-the-line Showers Pass touring rain jacket or a Novarra pannier from REI. Not sure where to start? Attend the Fundraising 101 Workshop on
April 16th at REI Portland from 7-8pm. They'll break it down for you and offer tips and techniques to get you started. All attendees will be entered into a drawing for a Yakima rooftop bike rack.

FILMED BY BIKE - WIN A FREE PASS! | April 13-15 - Portland |
Not only can they tear it up on the streets, they make movies too. In fact, over 50 international movies were submitted to
Filmed by Bike, a festival of bike-themed movie shorts. The organizers report that there were plenty of intriguing films under eight minutes (the limit), but only the top 19 were chosen for the final program.
Filmed by Bike only happens in Portland, and only comes to the theater once a year. The movies show all weekend long at 7 and 9 pm for 21+ and there's an all ages screening on Saturday at 5pm. The Opening Night Throwdown is Friday night,
but the decidedly raucous atmosphere is not for the faint at heart. If you prefer a more toned-down setting, check out the movies on Saturday and Sunday. And if you drool at the thought of owning your own Electra Amsterdam, the super hot
Euro bike, you can enter the raffle online (and you don't need to be present to win).
Friday night will sell out and there are no advance ticket sales, so try to nab a guaranteed seat for you and a friend by entering this drawing just for ORbike readers.

PINOT PEDAL | April 22 - Portland |
You can fit a lot into April 22nd - get in a little riding, celebrate Earth Day, enjoy delicious foods, support a youth bike
racing organization, and taste local wine. Urban Wineworks has organized an Earth Day celebration bicycle ride as a benefit for Bicycles and Ideas for Kids Empowerment (b.i.k.e.). The route will loop through diverse Portland
neighborhoods for 18 miles, with a yummy Wild Oats rest stop along the way.
But the real highlight is the finish line at Urban Wineworks. Bishop Creek Cellars believes that you shouldn't have to travel all the way to Yamhill County to taste their wines, so they brought the wine to Portland and set up Urban
Wineworks, conveniently located within easy biking distance of a b.i.k.e. ride. Riders will close off their day of riding with fresh local food, live music by Trashcan Joe, wine tasting of course and a silent auction.
