HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR RIDE | August 3 - Portland
Remember when summertime meant no school, no worries and bike riding around the neighborhood? Lemonade stands, watermelon, sundaes, squirt guns and Slip n' Slides? The Hottest Day of the Year Ride is a chance to re-live and re-love it all.

This day of fun in the sun on two wheels features everything above - and more. You'll start and finish at the Lucky Lab NW - where a finish line make-your-own sundae feast awaits! Last year the table of toppings nearly toppled over with huge bowls of crushed cookies, strawberries, chocolate sauce, nuts, caramel, marshmallows, fruit loops, whipped cream and more. Oh yummmmm!

This year they're going for not one but TWO world records: largest water fight (at the finish line) and largest watermelon eating contest (at one of the rest stops). There is also Portland's longest Slip n' Slide at a rest stop, cool lemonade, sprinklers and other summertime favorites.

You can register online until midnight tonight (7/31) and save $10. You can also register at the pre-ride party on Saturday from 4-7pm at Lucky Lab NW or on Sunday at the start line starting at 9am. Lucky Lab NW is on NW Quimby at 19th. This ride is a benefit for the Community Cycling Center. Bathing suits are optional.
This is an ORbike member event. If you're an ORbike member, you'll save $5 on registration and get a free beer or soda at the finish line.
    PORTLAND CENTURY | August 24 - Portland
Portland was recently honored with the prestigious Platinum Status designation from the League of American Bicyclists and this summer it seems like everyone is riding bikes. Match that with our rich culinary culture and gorgeous landscape and you've got the perfect recipe for a premier bicycle ride: the Portland Century. This catered tour of Portland is an excellent way to explore Portland and the outlying rural areas.

Each rest stop features extra delicious treats such as fresh pasta salad, strawberry shortcake, blended fruit smoothies, Hot Lips Pizza and more. The finish line is an amazing salmon dinner of wild line-caught salmon, fresh asparagus, rice pilaf, mixed greens salad and a rich brownie dessert. Add to that awesome take-home goodie bags with beer, coffee and smoked salmon; free finish line beer; incredible routes and unrivaled support and you have a perfect ride - a Portland cycling tradition that absolutely is not to be missed.

This is an ORbike member event. If you're an ORbike member, you'll save $10 on registration and get a free sports massage finish line.
HEALTH NET PORTLAND TWILIGHT CRIT | August 8 - Portland
Come watch the area's fastest cyclists compete for the region's biggest purse in the Health Net Portland Twilight Criterium, presented by Toyota. The course surrounds the North Park Blocks of downtown Portland, creating an island oasis of 360-degree viewing, music, food and beverages. The races start at 6:30 but the event begins at 5pm, so come early to get some food, grab a beer and find a good spot to watch the races.

There is constantly fast-paced excitement for cyclists and spectators alike along the highly technical race course. You can get close enough to the action to feel the wind from racers rushing by as they complete each half-mile lap in just over one minute. The races are fast, furious and action-packed.

There will also be music, a helmet giveaway and great food and drink - making it a perfect Friday night activity for families and cycling enthusiasts. Come downtown Friday evening to experience the excitement yourself.
This is an ORbike member event. If you're an ORbike member, you'll get a free entry to the VIP viewing area.
PROVIDENCE BRIDGE PEDAL | August 10 - Portland
It's time for the 13th annual Providence Bridge Pedal - the largest bike ride west of the Mississippi. This is your annual opportunity to bike over Portland's Willamette River bridges, including the top decks of the Fremont and Marquam bridges, which are otherwise closed to cyclists.

This year there will be a new course to ride due to construction on the Steel and Morrison bridges. In addition the organizers have added some great ride features: extra room on the road, two full lanes for biking on the Ross Island bridge and a more challenging 11-bridge ride. Also new this year, families of four may register for the 6-Bridge Family Ride for only $50.
This is an ORbike member event. If you're an ORbike member, you'll save $5 on registration.
TOUR DE LAB | September 7 - Portland
Tour de Lab is a bicycle tour of the three Lucky Lab brew pubs. You'll journey along urban routes on this 18-mile ride. But if you feel you really need to earn that pint, you can choose the 40-mile Big Dog course.

At each of the rest stops you'll earn your doggie gear: tail, ears and nose. Along the way to Multnomah Village, you'll cross the Willamette River and travel up a slight hill as you work up an appetite for the doggone good organic fruit at the Multnomah Village Lucky Lab where everyone gets a bike-blended fruit smoothie, and a dog tail to wear on the ride. From there it's on to earn your dog earns and a slice of pizza at the Lucky Lab NW. The grand finale, and your nose blackening, is at the Lucky Lab SE. Once you're fully dogged up, it's time to kick back, relax and enjoy the dog days of summer with your commemorative doggie bowl...er... pint glass filled with of Lucky Lab's handcrafted ale. The commemorative pint glass is yours to keep.

There is also a huge hot dog bar with all the fixins. This first year event is a benefit for Dove Lewis emergency animal care.
This is an ORbike member event. If you're an ORbike member, you'll save $5 on registration and get an extra free beer or soda at the finish line.

From there it's on to some of the most picturesque back road riding with panoramic ocean, bay and river views as well as the Coast Mountains and wonderful old-growth.

The event starts and finishes at the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area Visitor Center and parking is free. Choose your route: a short 25 mile, a metric century and a century. Book a day on the coast and experience the sea side the way it was meant to be experienced: on your bike.
