WORST DAY OF THE YEAR RIDE | February 10 - 2008
The Worst Day of the Year Ride is an easy 18-mile odyssey around downtown Portland that has quickly become a quirky annual tradition. You'll be kept warm and comfy at every turn with tons of belly-nourishing treats including hot cocoa, doughnuts, fruit, DragonFly chai tea, Nossa Familia coffee, bagels, hot cider and much more. The finish line meal is a delicious feast of local, sustainable and organic soups, fresh bread and the camaraderie of all the riders who braved the day with you.

Want more of a challenge? The optional 40-mile loop traverses the west hills out to Hillsboro REI for an extra-special rest stop that will warm and fuel you for the ride back to Portland. The ride is capped at 2,000 riders and it will sell out, so sign up early.
ORBIKE MEMBER PROGRAM FEATURE | Nossa Familia Coffee
When you sign up as an ORbike member, we'll give you a free bag of fresh, delicious coffee from Nossa Familia. For every pound of coffee sold at New Seasons and other local markets this December, Nossa Familia is donating .50 to the Community Cycling Center in support of their bicycle safety programs for low-income youth. Nossa Familia Coffee is about tradition, social responsibility and passion for excellence. Their mission for great coffee goes hand in hand with their commitment to make this a better world. CCC board member and Nossa Familia founder Augusto C. Dias imports coffee directly from his family's farm in Brazil. They grow 100% Arabica beans in a mountainous region that yields a smooth coffee rich in flavor and aroma.

Nossa Familia's coffee is roasted locally and can be found in the following stores: New Seasons, Market of Choice, Lamb's Thriftways, Food Front, People's Coop, independent stores and online through their website. For more information on their coffee offerings, the history behind Augusto's family coffee tradition visit their website.
EASTSIDE THEATER HISTORY TOUR | December 16 - Portland
Local historian Shawn Granton has organized a tour of Portland's many great old cinemas and vaudeville houses from the "Golden Age" (1910s through 1930s). Shawn, of the Urban Adventure League, is well known for his creative educational explorations of Portland by bike. This ride will explore theaters throughout the eastside - some still standing and functioning cinemas and others that are just a memory.

And what theater ride would be complete without a movie? After the tour, the group will take in a movie at one of the grand locations they visit along the way. This ride is free, but bring cash for the movie. The tour starts from the Hawthorne Hostel at 3031 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
