HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR RIDE | August 3 - Portland |
 Hundreds of cyclists will enjoy a day of fun in the sun on the Hottest Day of the Year Ride. The 15-mile course loops
around Portland with water stops, lemonade, a slip-n'-slide rest stop, watermelon eating contests, ample shade, snacks and support along the way. This ride is a benefit for the Community Cycling Center, an organization that teaches
bicycle safety to low-income youth.
The relatively flat course makes this event perfect for riders of all skill levels. Experienced cyclists who want more of a challenge can sign up for an extended 40-mile loop that heads out to Kelley Point Park, past Smith and Bybee
Lakes wildlife refuge and over Mt. Tabor.
At the finish line, riders will be rewarded with a cool make-your-own sundae bar, complete with strawberries, nuts, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, cherries, caramel and all the best goodies to make a huge sundae. Organizers have
planned a gigantic, good-natured water fight - in an attempt to conquer the world record.

HEALTH NET PORTLAND TWILIGHT CRITERIUM | August 8 - Portland |
 On Friday, August 8th the North Park Blocks of downtown Portland will be transformed into a closed-to-traffic race course as
the area's fastest cyclists compete for the region's biggest purse. The course actually surrounds the North Park Blocks, creating an island oasis of 360-degree viewing, music, food and beverages.
There"s always fast-paced excitement for cyclists and spectators alike along the race's highly technical course. You can get close enough to the action to feel the wind from racers rushing by as they complete each half-mile lap in
just over one minute. Watch the racing from the sidelines or the beer garden. There are also food vendors, a helmet giveaway for kids and bicycle craft and apparel vendors. The event is free and ample bike parking is available at the
Yakima Bike Parking Station.

MT. BIKE OREGON | August 15-17 - Oakridge |
 If you love mountain biking, you need to be at MBO! The July event was a huge success and there is one more weekend of this
epic mountain bike getaway. Riders come from as far away as Switzerland and from all over the U.S. to ride the amazing trails of Oakridge, Oregon.
Every night the beer is free and flowing in the New Belgium beer garden, shuttles get you to the trailheads, guides lead the way and keep you on the right path and you're riding on hundreds of miles of sweet singletrack. There are
three meals a day, mechanical support, raffles (a bike, a fork, jackets and other cool stuff) and tons of demo bikes that you can try out on the trails. There are trails and clinics for beginning riders as well as fast and furious rooty
and rocky trails for speed freaks and technical demons.
Chris King (of Chris King Components) will be cooking one of the dinners at the August event. Don't miss this great opportunity to hang out with Chris and tons of other very cool riders from around the world while surrounded on all

SUMMIT TO SURF | July 26 - Mt. Hood |
 The 13th annual American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure, Summit to Surf Bike Ride is a spectacular chance to see Mt.
Hood by bike. Mt. Hood is a giant mountain, but you don't have to tackle it all yourself. You can choose a route from 10 to 100 miles - options suited for all riding abilities. The finish line features a fresh lunch from Burgerville
and massage from the Oregon School of Massage.
The gorgeous routes feature breathtaking mountain passes, Timberline Lodge and quiet vistas with views of Mt. Hood and the Cascade Range. Rest stops are fully stocked, there is a continental breakfast, professional mechanical
support, trained first aid staff and SAG wagon support along the route.
The American Diabetes Association's mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the disease. By pedaling along with friends and family, you can support the ADA's good work and help raise
money to find a cure for diabetes, while enjoying some of the most scenic views in the Northwest.

ALL WOMEN'S TRI AND DU | August 2 - Fairview |
 The LUNA Women's Triathlon/Duathlon is an opportunity for women in our community to get together for an adventure that
includes fun, fitness, competition, and camaraderie. It is part of a two-day event that includes the Mid-Summer Triathlon/Duathlon held on Sunday, August 3rd. Both days host a festival of events featuring a Sport & Fitness Expo, music, BBQ
brunch and prizes. The entry fee Includes a 100% cotton women's cut t-shirt, finisher medal, day-park pass, BBQ brunch, and access to the festival. An awards ceremony will take place after the race.
The course varies depending on your entry level. Swim: 1/2-Mile Swim (1/4-Mile Swim for Tri-iT Wave and 3.1-Mile Run for Duathlon), Triangular lake swim (water temperature in the mid to upper 70Ős). 12-Mile Bike
(Triathlon & Duathlon): Semi-closed (local traffic only) out-and-back on a section of Marine Drive west of Blue Lake Park. 3.1-Mile Run (Triathlon & Duathlon): Flat and fast within Blue Lake Park and along the Marine Drive bike
path.
