THE NIGHT RIDE | July 11 - Portland |
Forget about your bedtime - this Saturday, you're staying up late. Every biker needs to do it at least once, or in this
case, once a year: ride your bike, late at night, through the streets of Portland, in costume, with tons of lights and hundreds of other bikers. The Night Ride is your annual chance to rock-it in the streets on two wheels.
The course is well marked with bright flashing signs and glowing arrows from Fun Reflector. Surprises and mysteries await you at every turn. Your journey takes you to an outdoor screening of bike movies from the wildly popular
Filmed by Bike film festival. Much on popcorn, grab a seat in the grass and get ready for selection of super-short bike movies. Next you'll cruise along hauntingly cool paths as you wind your way to the Disco Party rest stop, complete
with a stuff-yourself Candyland sugar shack to get you buzzed up and onto the dance floor. Your final leg of the event takes you on a downhill slide back to the train station for all-you-can-eat late night doughnuts and the lively music
of Zimba Marimba.
The Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers, the outstanding soul-riveting drum corps, kicks off this ride - so you know this ride is going to be a good one! Glam and gussy up for the Amtrak Cascades Costume Contest and head over to
Union Station on Saturday night.
