THE NIGHT RIDE | July 12 - Portland
Howling at the moon, lighted signs to guide you, a parking lot disco rest stop, an outdoor bike-in movie (featuring movies from Filmed by Bike) and an all-you-can-eat finish line doughnut feast are just a few of the many reasons you and 2,000 riders will be riding through the Portland city streets at night on The Night Ride, a benefit for the Bicycle Transportation Alliance.

This nightlife tour of Portland is the best way to see the city at night - by bike. A surprise and mystery awaits you at every turn. We don't want to give away all the secretes, but we can say that you'll pass fire jugglers, glowing hula hoopers, bag pipers and other entertainers as you snake your way around the city on roads and spooky paths on this really cool north Portland route. The ride, a signature Portland quirky tradition, is one you and your friends definitely do not want to miss. Mark your calendars and mark summer with The Night Ride - you're staying up late.

There is a costume contest for the best dressed, so come wearing your nighttime finest. Check out the website to see the outrageous costumes people wore last year, and start putting together your best showy outfit. All riders will get glow-in-the-dark tattoos and glow necklaces to ward off vampires and other creepy creatures along the way. Get spooked and sign up early for The Night Ride.

You can get a free pass to The Night Ride when you volunteer for Reach the Bridge, an 8k running event on June 29th. Course marshals are needed to help secure a safe course for the participants who are running to beat the Burnside Bridge - to cross the bridge before it goes up at 9am SHARP! Contact Lauren@GoodSportPromotion.com to sign up.
CIRQUE DU CYCLING | June 14 - Portland
The wackiest, tallest and most crazy bikes are coming out for Cirque du Cycling, a bicycle street fair taking place on north Mississippi Avenue this Saturday. This huge event is organized by Laughing Planet because they love bikes almost as much as they love burritos. It's all evening affair jam-packed with activities.

Starting at 4:00, there is a free family ride for kids of all ages and their adult friends. A parade of freak bikes, unicycles, tall bikes, choppers and the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers will strut their stuff down Mississippi Avenue starting at 5pm. The amateur race starts at 6:30 and the pro race is at 7:30. On the side lines, there is plenty of activity such as free juggling lessons in celebration of World Juggling Day, bike art, custom-made bike apparel from Shaun Deller bike hats and others, the Caldera Arts Hello Portland project and much more.

And when all that walking around tires you out, you can grab a seat in the beer garden, kick back and watch as the racers zoom by. This first-time event is sure to become a summer opener every year. Make sure you're there.
SUMMIT TO SURF | July 26 - Mt. Hood
The 13th annual American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure, Summit to Surf Bike Ride is a spectacular chance to see Mt. Hood by bike. Mt. The finish line features lunch from Burgerville and massage from the Oregon School of Massage.

The gorgeous routes feature breathtaking mountain passes, Timberline Lodge and quiet vistas with views of Mt. Hood and the Cascade Range.
