They really saved the best for the last organized ride of Oregon's cycling season. At the 5th Annual Harvest Century riders

PORTLAND VELO SOUTHWESTERN EXPLORER | October 13 - Beaverton |
As the days turns colder, rainier, darker, sometimes it's nice to have other people to ride with, to motivate you to stay on
your bike through the winter season. Portland Velo is a community of cyclists who share the passion for everything bicycling - whether you are a beginning cyclist, a seasoned club rider or a racing fanatic. Most of all, they say, they're
out to have fun and share cycling experiences in a safe and social setting. They take their motto - "It's all about the ride" - very seriously.
The club offers weekly rides of a variety of distances. You don't need to be a member to join them on a ride and they want you to join them on October 20th for a rural sojourn through southern Washington County, Yamhill, Clackamas and
maybe Marion counties. The Southwestern Explorer is a 35 to 45 mile ride and will include a featured hill or two. There two or three coffee stops along the way. The group sticks together throughout the ride but a map is also
provided.

THRILLA CROSS | October 4 - Bend |
It's your last chance to race the Thrilla Cross, a Thursday night cyclocross series in Bend. This year's new course is on a
tree-filled lot and it twists and turns through a tight mix of dirt roads, singletrack, sidewalks and run-ups. The organizers are excited about the narrow, technical and very fun course. A water truck wets the course before each ride and
mountain bikes are welcome.
Cost is $12 for this final race and OBRA membership is required.
