HARVEST CENTURY | October 7 - St. Paul (Champoeg State Pk.)
They really saved the best for the last organized ride of Oregon's cycling season. At the 5th Annual Harvest Century riders choose from three looped routes originating from Champoeg State Park. Pumpkins mark the way to a day filled with beautiful scenery, unrivaled support, friendly volunteers and a toe-tappin' party featuring live music from Back Porch Revival and The Mighty Filberts, cold beer from Rogue Ales, hot burritos from Taco Del Mar and a huge caramel apple to sink your teeth into.

Pre-registration for this great event closes October 1. Only pre-registered riders will get a goody bag with coupons and treats from sponsors and vendors. Plenty of space will be available for registration on the day of the event for the same price of $45. The course is marked with its signature jack-o-henry's, the leaves are full of fall colors and the forecast for Sunday is sunshine all day.

Register today to enjoy all the charm and surprises you'd expect in a festive October ride where pumpkins mark the way. Proceeds benefit Community Vision.

This is an ORbike member event. If you're an ORbike member, you'll receive $5 your online registration.
PORTLAND VELO SOUTHWESTERN EXPLORER | October 13 - Beaverton
As the days turns colder, rainier, darker, sometimes it's nice to have other people to ride with, to motivate you to stay on your bike through the winter season. Portland Velo is a community of cyclists who share the passion for everything bicycling - whether you are a beginning cyclist, a seasoned club rider or a racing fanatic. Most of all, they say, they're out to have fun and share cycling experiences in a safe and social setting. They take their motto - "It's all about the ride" - very seriously.

The club offers weekly rides of a variety of distances. You don't need to be a member to join them on a ride and they want you to join them on October 20th for a rural sojourn through southern Washington County, Yamhill, Clackamas and maybe Marion counties. The Southwestern Explorer is a 35 to 45 mile ride and will include a featured hill or two. There two or three coffee stops along the way. The group sticks together throughout the ride but a map is also provided.
OUTLAW CYCLOCROSS SERIES | Saturdays in Oct and Nov - Southern Oregon
They love their cyclocross in Southern Oregon and pride themselves on races that have a hometown welcoming feel. Every year the Outlaw Cyclocross Series is dedicated to Nick Jensen who died in 2000 while swimming in the Illinois River. Nick was an avid sportsman and the Nick Jensen Memorial Fund has donated over $100,000 in equipment to Josephine County Search and Rescue, a non-profit volunteer organization. Proceeds from the cyclocross series will benefit Search and Rescue.

There is an array of raffle prizes totaling over $4,000. Their goal is to raise as much money as possible while having as much FUN as possible. The first race takes place in Yreka, CA, but all other races are in the Grants Pass area.
THRILLA CROSS | October 4 - Bend
It's your last chance to race the Thrilla Cross, a Thursday night cyclocross series in Bend. This year's new course is on a tree-filled lot and it twists and turns through a tight mix of dirt roads, singletrack, sidewalks and run-ups. The organizers are excited about the narrow, technical and very fun course. A water truck wets the course before each ride and mountain bikes are welcome.

Cost is $12 for this final race and OBRA membership is required.
