Very recently, the City of Portland started to charge for parking at meters on Sundays. There is no designated parking area for the Portland Century, so you may either park on side streets at meters,
use a pay lot, carpool, ride your bike or take transit. PSU is within walking distance of the MAX line and is served by several bus lines.
If someone is going to drop you off and pick you up, don't forget that you may purchase a dinner ticket for that person. Dinner tickets are available in the Portland Century online store, at Pre-Ride Check In, at the Start Line and
at the finish line (space allowing).

Saturday, August 15
Lucky Lab NW - 1945 NW Quimby
1:00-4:00pm
Pre-Ride Check In is completely optional, but we think it's a great way to kick off the ride. Get checked in early so on the morning of the ride you're ready to roll without waiting in line.
We'll have an array of yummy appetizers to whet your palate for the next day's gourmet on-course feast. You can check out the routes, ask questions, enjoy Lucky Lab beer and meet other riders.
You may pick up registration materials for other riders. You may also register for the ride, buy t-shirts or jerseys and purchase additional dinner tickets.
This event is optional. If you don't make it, no problem. Check in on the morning of the ride begins at 6:00 am and it's easy as pie.

There's no denying it, the routes on the Portland Century are amazing, offering you some of the best views of Mt. Hood while you pedal past tree farms, along wooded roads and stretches where
the ferns are so lush they're nearly brushing up against your legs on shady, quiet roads. But the routes are not without their challenges.
If you are riding the Half or Full Century courses, get ready for a brutal headwind along Marine Drive. You'll be battling this beast near the end of your ride, after your second to last
rest stop, Blue Lake (Hot Lips pizza). We recommend fueling up with extra water, nutrition and the drive to conquer that headwind, head on! You can do it!
If you're riding the Full Century course, we have a slight detour just after the Eagle Fern rest stop due to major construction along our course. You'll be taking a three mile detour, which means you'll actually clock in
around 101 miles for the day. This changes has been noted in the ride guide and the course is well marked.
You have some steep climbing outside of Eagle Fern as you make your way through Sandy and to the north. We even added in an extra, much-welcomed rest stop last
year to make this stretch a little more bearable. Hill climbers, you're going to love it. The rest of you, well, it's a gorgeous area, and there is no shame in walking your bike! Take a look at the elevation
charts on our routes page for more details.
And remember, a support vehicle is never too far away. If you are ever in need of a lift, use the support number listed in your ride guide (which you'll get at check in) to call for a ride. The ride guide details out the route, rest stops,
mechanical support and elevation. |

We open at 6am on the morning of the ride. At that time, you may check in, register to ride, enjoy continental breakfast and get your
questions answered. We will not be open before then. The start and finish take place at Portland State University on the park blocks behind Smith Hall, 1825 SW Broadway. [

The course opens at 6am for riders who need extra time, but if you're a speedy ride who does not plan to
linger very long at rest stops, we recommend you leave at 7am so you do not arrive to rest stops and the finish line before they're ready for you! Remember, it's a ride, not a
race, so there's no need to scoot out early unless you're concerned about finishing before the course closes at 6pm.
Check your ride guide along the way for information on when each rest stop is open (or see below) and plan your ride accordingly.
